Hitting robotically hot on the new Moda Black Volume IV compilation is a crafty electro-focused remix by Richy Ahmed. Since its inception in 2011, Moda Black has become one of the UK’s most successful independent imprints, focusing on passionately produced, forward-thinking electronic music that covers a broad range of sounds.

As for guests, Tough City Kids and Throwing Snow seal the deal alongside Richy Ahmed with their remixes. Richy's remix is yet another example as to why he's been a driving force to the renaissance of British House the past few years. He's an established international DJ who knows the scene, taking cues from a plethora of genres and integrating it into his own form of curation.

First ep by Black Merlin was featured in Humangigz (one of 3 LYO members) LYO#025 mix and we played and still play Will Flisk "Silent Running" frequently in clubs. This sixth outing by "Identified Patient" remains mysterious. Who's this producer ? A newcomer or an established player hidden under another new moniker ?! Who cares, it rocks ! This four tracker is made of devastating slow acid twisted burners. Think Gesloten Cirkel but more deviant and definitely slower. The monsters are leaving the dirty hospital next week, watchout !

Premiere: Shosho - La Pedrera [New Violence Records]

When I discovered that my school had a Moog Sub37 just sitting in the hallway I immediately made it a priority to find a way to use it. I asked a couple of teachers if I could take it to one of the studios and bring it back after I used it, sadly that wasn’t a possibility. So, I decided to drive for about 40 minutes to  bring my studio to the hallway and record some concepts with this beautiful intrument. I used my cousins longboard as a table to set my computer and my audio interface, once I had everything hooked Is at on the floor and was ready to go. It was my first time using one of this beasts and the second I listened to one its oscillators I realized how much I love not just music, but sounds as well. I didn’t have the MIDI cable to sync it to my DAW, making the song more special as the bass line and string are full length performances including the filter and LFO’s movement. Once I got back to my studio I added some synths and percussive instruments using original recordings, samples and my much beloved Korg Volca Beats. I sat on this track for a while not being able to find that missing element that it needed. Life’s weird way of working made me Annabel’s paths crossed each other. What are the chances a Bolivian dude and a British girl meet in the small town of Norman, Oklahoma. I have so many things to say about this girl: the wonderful experience that was working with her and the amazing artist that she is. Anyways, I don’t want to give to much away and I will let the music speak for itself.

Fine kickstart their record label with a four track EP of minimalistic tendencies. They feature two tracks from Tilman and Johannes Albert. It is the Johannes Albert 'B1' which caught our attention.

Joining the rising producer on the release is Hot Creations and Moda black artist Russ Yallop, a man that needs little introduction. Yallop provides his own interpretation of lead cut 'Cosmic'. The very first release will include tracks from Einmusik, Pete Oak, and Third Son himself, all named ‘Genus'. The Polymath concept will ask different artists to create pieces inspired by their perception of a singular theme with three artists each contributing a production under the same track name.
