Hitting robotically hot on the new Moda Black Volume IV compilation is a crafty electro-focused remix by Richy Ahmed. Since its inception in 2011, Moda Black has become one of the UK’s most successful independent imprints, focusing on passionately produced, forward-thinking electronic music that covers a broad range of sounds.

As for guests, Tough City Kids and Throwing Snow seal the deal alongside Richy Ahmed with their remixes. Richy's remix is yet another example as to why he's been a driving force to the renaissance of British House the past few years. He's an established international DJ who knows the scene, taking cues from a plethora of genres and integrating it into his own form of curation.

Without further ado, let's dive into the textural wonder of Richy Ahmed. Moda Black Volume IV will be available June 17th via Moda Black.

First ep by Black Merlin was featured in Humangigz (one of 3 LYO members) LYO#025 mix and we played and still play Will Flisk "Silent Running" frequently in clubs. This sixth outing by "Identified Patient" remains mysterious. Who's this producer ? A newcomer or an established player hidden under another new moniker ?! Who cares, it rocks ! This four tracker is made of devastating slow acid twisted burners. Think Gesloten Cirkel but more deviant and definitely slower. The monsters are leaving the dirty hospital next week, watchout !

After an absence of two years, Leng are very happy to welcome back bass-wielding producer Fernanado Pulichino. The Natural 77 EP sees the experienced Argentine deliver another trio of tracks underpinned by his trademark warm, funk-fuelled basslines.
 
Fernando has packed a lot into his career since debuting with regular production partner Julian Sanza at turn of the millennium. Before the duo decided to go their separate ways, they delivered a string of fine deep house EPs as Cuidad Feliz, a fine debut album for Silver City, and formed part of Ralph Lawson’s touring live act, 20:20 Soundsystem. As a solo artist, Fernando released his debut album on Bear Funk back in 2013, and has more recently dropped singles on Cynic, Tusba and Futureboogie Recordings.
 
Given this vast experience, it’s no surprise to find that his third outing on Leng is an assured and varied affair. Opener “Backwards” sees Fernando strutting his electrofunk stuff, adding hazy guitar solos, spacey electronics and dubbed-out synth riffs to a rolling, boogie-propelled groove.
 
He channels the spirit of West Coast funkateers Steely Dan on title track “Natural 77”, expertly combining a rubbery bass guitar riff with sun-kissed guitar solos, freestyle vocal improvisations and a fluid, bongo-laden drum break. It’s a lazy, low-slung affair, but one guaranteed to incite excitable shuffling out on the dancefloor.
 
Finally, Fernando heads back towards Balearic disco pastures with the rich and evocative “Attic Party”. Delay-laden electric piano stabs, jammed-out bass and flanged, funk-fuelled guitar lines weave in and out of a mix dominated by trippy synthesizer motifs and deliciously glassy-eyed solos. You won’t know whether to wearily dance or lie down; either way, you’ll be escorted to another dimension by the Argentine’s gently mind-altering grooves.

If you’re setting out on an epic voyage to the electronic disco universe, it pays to recruit an experienced pilot. When it comes to intergalactic musical fusion, few are quite as experienced as cosmic disco pioneer and noted dancefloor explorer Daniele Baldelli.

Produced alongside friend and regular studio partner Dario Piana, Zero Gravity cannily updates Baldelli’s early ‘80s cosmic disco blueprint for the 21st century. We think that the EP contains some of his strongest music to date, with each of the three cuts offering subtle nods to the Italian maestro’s original Cosmic Club ethos. 

A-side “Infinity Machine” expertly combines many of Baldelli’s greatest musical inspirations into one mind-bending late night workout. Underpinned by a druggy, arpeggio style bassline, the track rises and falls through waves of funk-rock guitars, crunchy Clavinet lines and intertwined synthesizer solos. Throw in jammed-out electric pianos, and you have a near perfect fusion of cosmic disco and blazed funk-rock.

The producer’s long-held love of African rhythms surfaces on “If You Drive”, where bold acid bass, ricocheting percussion hits and weightless chords combine beautifully with starry melody lines and vintage analogue synthesizer motifs. It’s Afro-cosmic for the nu-disco generation.

A fine EP is completed by “Air Lock”, in which Baldelli and Piana pepper a rubbery, electrofunk-influenced groove with cascading synthesizer melodies, swirling pads and a swathe of fuzzy, eyes-closed guitar solos. It’s bold and assertive, but also as otherworldly and stratospheric as you’d expect from a pioneer at the peak of his powers.

Daniele Baldelli & Dario Piana - If You Drive

After reaching volume 7,  LAGASTA's "Late Summer" ongoing compilation series has now become a trademark for the ending of summer. Featuring some of the finest tracks of the year, the compilation is packed with sun-kissed, groove-filled tunes that provide you with a never-ending summer feeling. Fueling many blissful joyrides at no cost and free download as always. 
Now, LAGASTA is proud to present something new and special in the form of a double-vinyl album. A tangible compilation series, entitled "Last Gas Station", which is compiled with only exclusive tracks. The first "Last Gas Station" compilation features 12 new tracks and aims to showcase artists that the site has followed for many years, as well as  promising talents to keep an eye on. It also marks the launch of our exciting new label, LAGASTA Records.
The collection's opening track is a sunshine-filled slice of daytime disco from LA's duo Poolside recent album "Heat", which is remix by Baio, aka Vampire Weekend's bassist Chris Baio. Next one is Crew Love’s David Marston, who teams up with Dan Izco for a blissful ride. Mexico's finest Zombies in Miami deliver a dancefloor odyssey in the form of "Temple of Love", while Italian duo Marvin & Guy drop an epic slow-burner called "Asbek". 
DFA’s Greek mastermind Larry Gus  never ceases  to amaze us with yet another example of what he does best, followed by “Charlie Rose”, a classy, club-ready track from Brooklyn's duo Vito & Druzzi, aka Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel “Druzzi” Andruzzi, best known for being the drummer and multi-instrumentalist of DFA’s The Rapture.  Next up, Adelaide-based producer James Curd and Turbotito, aka Los Angeles producer Filip Nikolic of Poolside, have joined forces once again for a new collaborative tune “Lost" filled with warm grooves and melancholic synths, followed by our favorite NY unstoppable disco funkers Midnight Magic with their infectious track "Through The Motions" of pure disco glory. 
Woolfy Vs Projections, the duo of California-based musicians Simon “Woolfy” James and Dan Hastie, keep the summer vibes going with their track "Your Past Behind", a quality example of the signature sound.  Disco Halal’s Moscoman teams up with MoRayon for an extra dose of lush vibes on “Play No Game". LA's Daniel T. takes us for a ride with "Moonlight Bounce", a perfectly crafted tune full of melodic soundscapes, while Peaking Lights Acid Test, the live instrumental disco project of APC (Aaron Coyes of Peaking Lights) closes the compilation in the best way possible with a gorgeous slice of synth rhythm heaven.

PREMIERE : Woolfy Vs Projections - Your Past Behind

The Mushrooms Project are well known for their sleazy mid-tempo laid-back percussive style, a sound that immediately resonated with rising stars and newly signed label mates Earthboogie. 

Specifically it was ‘Dubby Bolas’ from the Italian duo’s 2016 album ‘Rivea Corymbosa’ album that really excited Earthboogie and equally, the Mushrooms were fans of the afro disco sound the Londoners displayed on their debut track ‘Route Ten To Interzone’.

The mutual appreciation led to this remix project which was released on Record Store Day 2018 and showcases their complementary productions styles which collide with great effect.

Following up last year's volume one Willie Graff & Darren Eboli continue their vinyl only excursions into modern balearica with The Tribeca Tapes Vol.2 on Music For Dreams. Four tracks that take in Ibicencan deep house, shuffling acidic breakbeat and Eastern inspired ambiance. 'La Sirena' is a more late night affair; a chugging bass sits under woozy keys while a  teasing breathy vocal begs you let your mind be free.
