It's no secret that here at Mixmag we absolutely love Booka Shade and what's not to like. The German duo made up of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier have been at the very top of their game ever since starting out.

Their latest album 'EVE' dropped late last year and since its release the duo have ensured that there have been some suitably strong remixes to accompany the tracks, with 'Love Drug' the next single to get a set of edits. 

Today we have the premiere of Booka's Red Light remix and once again the producers have edited themselves to near-perfection. This rework is far more dancefloor focused than the original, with a deeper feel and a bumping bassline. Check this one.

There it is, keinemusik number seventeen. We know what you’re thinking. You think you know how it works. You think, those keinemusik fellas will again be doing their little rotation thing, one producer getting a record out after the other, then a Workparty-joint venture at some point and then it starts all over again. Au contraire! This seventeenth edition is breaking the known beautiful, perfectly curled cycle. Just like that, so that no one gets bored. This record here is an appetizer for the collaboration-effort NR&, or rather Rampa, &ME and Nomi, the New York based singer that provided the recent movement of flamboyant Disco-queerness with its sexiest and catchiest hooks, teaming up with Hercules & Love Affair and doing her own project Jessica 6.
On side A they go full heat and directly for the ultimate, heartwarming club-anthem. “Broken Toy” is sneaking in with discreet percussions and some random field recordings on top, until the intro gives way to an instantly touching piano-accord. As soon as Nomi’s notably affecting vocal parts are hitting the mark, it should be evident, that this cut is applicable in various situations. It will inflame floors into rapture of love, it will be perfect iPod-material for lonely midnight-strolls and it makes a perfect new choon for the weeks and months to come.
On the flip NR& rather take care of everyone who is expecting a safe playing house-rehash of the above mentioned acts and tenderly let a lashing snare slap every preconception out of sceptic faces. “Enemy” makes no mistake about being manufactured in Berlin. Its stoic, technoid intent to pave the way to the floor with utmost straightness might seem like a contrast in comparison with Nomi’s warm timbre, but after some bars, you’ll find both in unrestrained, loving embrace.

Cadatta is an alternative music artist from Athens Greece. He has been creating music since 2003 and started releasing his creations in 2005. He loves deep sound, working mainly with the sampling process he composes everything from chill out to deep tech and house music. He has released many EPs and remixes for several great labels such as Etoka Records, Pure Substance, Muak Music and many more. He has also collaborate with artists like Hideo Kobayashi, Maria Voumvaki, Cooccer, Deeprider aka Milto, Ilias Katelanos, Soukie & Windish, Alvaro Hylander and George Neufeld to name a few. Having spent time playing in bars and clubs across Athens and London (in parties with Kerri Chandler, Osunlade, Phonique and more) he has experience pleasing crowds and sharing the music he loves.
