Alex Blaxx drops four original tracks for Dessous Recordings following a couple of very well received releases on Buzzin' Fly and Sccucci Manucci. Blaxx now resides in Manchester by way of Cape Town - both cities with strong house music credentials. Blaxx himself excels in lush house productions with plenty of soul and a lot of dance floor knowledge.
The EP's title track 'It’s Been Done Before' gives a healthy nod to the hugely fertile period of New York house in the 1990s, but retains a freshness and spark that sets it apart from many of his contemporaries. It's highly musical and organic, with hugely effective hooks, builds and pads that will bring smiles to the faces of dancers worldwide.
'Gilmore Heureux' is a darker affair, with a raw evolving groove with a Detroit flavor. It's got plenty of grit, and a few innovative twists and turns along the way.
'All the Difference' slows the pace slightly, unwinding a killer groove driven by a piano and punchy drums. About midway through a sublime synth bass joins the fray, and the track lifts off into the ether.
Beatport customers will also get 'Heartburn' - a driving house burner with piano stabs, 90’s vocal hooks, and a relentless and intoxicating groove.

It's mildly comical, that Tim Wagner and Amy Douglas, two former Long Islanders would choose Sunrise HWY (former Sunrise Highway) as the name for their venture, but one listen to the music, and it's clear as to why they chose such a lofty and expansive name. Sunrise HWY is atmospheric, sophisticated, broad, and most importantly a return to the song as king.

After the successful debut EP on True Romance in 2014, we are excited to have the remix EP finally coming out. And it’s not just some remixes, we managed to get two of the best remixers around at the moment. Italy’s finest Tiger & Woods and Tuff City Kids from Germany.

Larry Tiger & David Woods delivered a very hypnotic version of Sunrise HWY’s ‚Some Kinda Fool’ while Gerd Janson & Lauer aka Tuff City Kids did their reinterpretation on the originals of ‚Never Enough’ and ‚Compass Point’. And if that’s not enough, we added their very own Dub to the package as well.

Make sure you get your hands on the 12“ vinyl as that is a must have in every collection. Out April 20th.
