MUP (Musica Universa Peritia)

MUP, an acronym for “Musica Universa Peritia,” is an Italian musical project known for its extraordinary versatility and ability to span all musical genres. Founded in 2020, the project consists of five musicians technology, each bringing extensive experience in various musical styles, from hip-hop to jazz, rock to classical music, electronic to folk.

The project’s name, which means “Universal Experience of Music” in Latin, perfectly reflects their mission: to break down barriers between musical genres and create a unique and universal sound experience. Their music is an eclectic fusion of sounds and influences, with lyrics that address a wide range of themes, from reflections on contemporary society to the celebration of cultural diversity.

MUP’s debut was met with great enthusiasm from both the public and critics. Their first album, “Universa,” received rave reviews for its innovation and originality. Tracks like “Harmonia Mundi” and “Pax Sonora” quickly became popular, topping music charts and gaining a devoted fan base.

MUP is also known for its energetic and engaging live performances, which are a true spectacle of musical artistry. Each concert is a journey through various sound worlds, where the audience can experience the full range of human emotions through music.

Alex Bonacci began playing drums at the age of seven.
He attended a Berklee College course where he had the pleasure to study with Ron Savage, Ken Cervenka and Matthew Nicholl and meet many great artists of all over the world.
He attended several master-classes and studied with different great musicians, such as: Jeff Berlin, Omar Hakim, Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl, JoJo Mayer, Pat Martino, Maurizio Dei Lazzaretti, Dennis Chambers, Furio Chirico, Miroslav Vitous, Kiko Loureiro, Daryl Lowery, Larry Monroe, etc.

In 2005 he became the official drummer of the band called 'Vincent' and won the Sanremo Rock Festival with them during the same year. Attending this event he had the chance to play on the same stage on which many famous musicians were playing (i.e. Ian Paice- Deep Purple's drummer).
He took part in many radio and television programs (Rock TV, RaiDue, RadioDue, Sky, etc.) and in many important music contests with different artists (Heineken Jammin Festival, International Pop Overthrow, Sanremo Rock, Premio Musicultura, Rock Targato Italia, Coca Cola contest, etc.). He is also involved in the project "Renilin: OFFSIDE", produced by Renilin, with other ten artists of all over the world.

In 2011 he began to teach drums for the italian national school "La casa del batterista" in Turin, at the Bioritmo Studio. He is now director of the branches of Turin of "La casa del batterista" and "La casa del chitarrista" and he is endorser of the italian brand UFIP - Earcreated cymbals.

Now he is also the headteacher of the music school PERFORM School of music ® (RSL Awards centre examination).
"PERFORM School of music"  is also partner of the MLC Academy of Nottingham and of the i.c.m.p. - The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance of London.

Fabrizio Bonacci is an established freelance session player, composer, guitar teacher, and cognitive scientist based in London. Over the years, Fabrizio had the chance to play many prestigious venues around Europe - including the Islington O2 Academy, Ding Walls, and the legendary 100 Club. His studies started at the young age of 6, with violin and classical music. As a teenager Fabrizio switched to guitar and started to explore modern jazz harmony, developing his improvisational skills by studying with Barry Greene (University of North Florida, USA), Sid Jacobs (Musicians Institute California, USA), and Carl Verheyen (Supertramp).

Besides his teaching activities, Fabrizio is currently involved in a variety of music projects, which range from Jazz to Prog Rock, Funk, Blues, and Soul. He is well known among his fellow musicians for his ability to mix and match quite a variety of different music genres and styles, which all contribute to make up his own sound and his original music style.

Having also completed a PhD in Philosophy of Mind and Language, Fabrizio's main scientific interests involve neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and philosophy of science. As a cognitive scientist, Fabrizio has been working between the University of Palermo (Italy) and UCL (UK) to develop his research project, which consists in an attempt to integrate a Massively Modular model of the mind/brain with the description (and implementation by the mind/brain) of some specific context-sensitive cognitive processes.

During his PhD years, Fabrizio has also been working as research assistant and examiner at UNICAL in Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Logic & Philosophy of Science. He got his Master’s Degree in Philosophy of Science with a dissertation which focused on the concept of inference in epistemology, logic, and physics (its title is Forms of Inference between Logic and Epistemology).

An Alt. Country Americana band, coming out of Melbourne Town, Australia.

Lead by singer song writer, Gerry Rival, who has been writing songs and playing in bands for over 20 years. While coming from an Indie and Punk Rock background he has also drawn influences from a wide range of artists and styles; from Alternative Country to Americana to roots, he has found his own unique style. Blending melody and emotive guitar work to create a compelling sound that carries his seemingly simple yet thought provoking lyrics. After having  decided it was time to go solo, he's been recruiting various other talented musicians to make his visions come to life. And so the Wheels and Fire were born.

Diego started his guitar study at the age of eight, learning quickly the technical aspects of the instrument and showing a natural gift with his touch, expression and execution.
At age of 11, he studied the modern electric guitar in a little school of music in Turin, Italy. At age of 13 Diego met the great guitarist Massimo Arminchiardi, who introduced Diego to a professional level of music study encompassing advanced aspects of modern guitar music.
At age of 15, Diego began studying with Tony De Gruttola, who is a master level teacher of both “Centro Professione Musica” and “Accademia Lizard – Piedmont Section”. Diego learned improvisation and rhythmic techniques, across blues, rock, metal and funk genres.

WORKING EXPERIENCE

2006 January

Diego, at age of fifteen, was selected as the best electric guitarist during a TV shown on Rai 1 (“Domenica In, Ieri, Oggi Domani - Sunday 29th 7:00pm)  from a jury composed by Enrico Ciacci (brother and guitarist of Little Tony the most famous “rockabilly” man in Italy), Alberto Radius (guitarist of the Formula 3 group one of the first prog-rock groups in Italy) and Dody Battaglia (guitarist of “The Pooh”).


2006 May

Diego was invited to play his electric guitar again on Rai 1 television twice in May 2006 with other eleven guys, composing the “Orchestra di Domani”. Diego was playing some movie soundtracks and “The Godfather” theme solo.

2007

Diego was invited to play in a jazz club in Turin. He performed some instrumental covers by Satriani, Vai and Moore.

2008

Diego composed his first song, “Thinking of Chopin” inspired by Nocturnes op. IX pt.1  by Frederick Chopin. The song published on Garageband and Ourstage websites and received many awards from the community.
 
2009

Diego was invited to play at “Guitarshow 2009” in Milan, representing Accademia Lizard: he played “Fives” by Guthrie Govan.

2010

Diego won the “1 concorso nazionale per chitarra elettrica ed acustica” in Parma playing his “Thinking of Chopin”.
Diego was invited again to represent “Accademia Lizard” school of music in many towns and cities of Northern Italy to promote the school together with the Accademia Lizard teachers.
Diego was selected by the movie director James Smith for his documentary project about six guitar stories. Diego one of the six guitarists worldwide.
Diego was invited by John Dargan, founder of nurturemusic.biz, to perform a music tour in US starting from 8/2/2010 to 9/3/2010. During his stage Diego played for free in DaytonaLagoon, Athens Theater and many other sites around central Florida. 

2011
"Canevel Music Lab" Semi-finalist 
Winner of the "Chickenfoot" nationwide contest 2011 promoted by Rock TV Italy.
On tour in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Poland and UK as supporting act with Stoney Curtis Band and John D'Amato, starting from 20 November 2011, booking agency: AmsterdamMusicPromotors.
