"Pop music with an African twist"

With nearly 360 million YouTube views, Alex Boye is Africanizing the pop music landscape, infusing the rhythms and various languages of his ancestral continent. Born from Nigerian parents, Boye grew up in London before coming to America. He recently made his debut at the world renowned Royal Albert Hall in London. His live show is a combination of American pop music with an African twist.

Alex Boyé who's mesmerizing presence and Epic voice helped propel "Peponi", the piano guys Coldplay cover to the stratosphere with over 60 million views on YouTube, is a formidable solo artist. Alex was also featured vocalist on the viral music video of violin sensation Lindsey Sterling, on the captivating "Afro-classical version of Bruno Mars's "Grenade". Award winning singer and songwriter is best known for his African twist on American pop and 
ethno -classical music.

Riding on a fresh new musical wave of ethnic sound mixed with the hottest hits of today, Alex's music is being discovered by thousands of new listeners daily, and is on the verge of making serious milestones in the industry.

Anne Leighton believes that artists can work within their own means by creating their own career opportunities. And she has done that for herself via her love of mass media, as a writer, publicist and a music services person. Her roster includes Joe Deninzon/Stratospheerius, Phoebe Legere, Ian Anderson, Gary Lucas, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Kripalu Yoga Teacher Greg O’Donovan, Grand Funk Railroad, Gentle Giant, John Hall & Orleans, Shun Ng and Magic Dick, Carmine &  Vinny Appice, Sharon Katz & the Peace Train, and herself!

After helping a variety of artists, most recently Wouter Kellerman, Jann Klose, and Alex Boye’ get on the map in North America, Anne found herself a songwriting deal with Sheer Publishing on the strength of her song, GOT MY EYE ON YOU SANTA.  She spends a lot of her time writing and producing new songs.

Anne is an active writer with four books, most recently her poetry book, THE LEIGHTON EXPLOSION (Soul Asylum Poetry, Canada). Also in her catalog are: PAWS FOR THOUGHT: UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOUR CAT IS THINKING (Rockwell Books, UK), USING YOUR ART & THE MEDIA TO COMFORT PEOPLE (Free to Run Books, US), an e-book: GET THE GIG: COMMON SENSE CONSULTING (Anne Leighton).

An active poet, she harkens back to Greek attitudes, and performs her work in the marketplace. Notable venues have included the Howl! Festival, Peter Max Studio for the HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT album release, and at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. She has studied with Billy Collins, Nadine Mouzon, Regie Gibson and Mindy Matijasevic.
She is an active keynote speaker, having shared insights on writing, creating music careers, and all aspects of the media for a number of conventions including the CMJ CONVENTION, IBS CONVENTION, EMPIRE STATE MUSIC CONFERENCE, THE MILLENIUM CONFERENCE, DIY CONVENTION, CAT WRITERS CONVENTION, and taught Entertainment Media Relations and Publicity at Baruch College.

Anne's worked in radio at WZIR-Buffalo, WRNW-Briarcliff Manor, WFUV-Bronx, WBUZ-Fredonia, and was an editor at HIT PARADER magazine, plus freelanced for a number of magazines including FELINE WELLNESS, CATFANCY, MUSCLEMAG INTERNATIONAL, INSIDE KARATE/KUNG FU, GOLDMINE, and CREEM. Her plays include REACH FOR THE SUN, which was performed by Poets Repertory Theater of Long Island, ONE WAY TO HEAVEN performed by the San Antonio Living Church, and THE PASSION OF MARY which was read at the Kingsbridge Library Center in her hometown of the Bronx, and is now published by Off the Wall Plays in the UK and South Africa.
