Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 3rd November 2025: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch588

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

Relatable sorrows, indie electric guitar and ethereal harmonies, “Rupture” is a haunting blend of angst, melancholy and seeking silver linings. From the very first lyrics, Alex Cambridge captures the all too familiar rude awakening that comes from betrayal. A theme still very raw, this mid-tempo alternative pop offering is a fitting re introduction to Alex’s music and was written, produced and mixed by Alex herself. Confrontational verses and choruses invite self-reflection before an explosive end of pent up emotions that leads back to the start of a dreaded reality.

Brighton-based indie-electronic duo Bloody Tourist return with Goodbye 79, a nostalgic, quietly anthemic
single featuring the stunning vocals of Dutch-British artist Tessa Rose Jackson. Out November 4th, the track
blends bittersweet lyricism with shimmering production, continuing the band’s evolution toward something
more emotive, expansive, and quietly defiant.
Inspired by the Simon & Garfunkel lyric “how terribly strange to be seventy”, Goodbye 79 meditates on
change, age, and the beauty of letting go. It's a song about saying goodbye—to a moment, a place, or the
person you once were—and doing so with grace. Melancholy but never maudlin, the track is carried by
jangly guitars, a jittery rhythm section, and a soaring first-take solo, capturing the tension between
vulnerability and momentum.
Built from an old demo and brought to life through collaboration with Jackson and producer KD K.dar, the
song’s warm, organic textures blend indie-folk storytelling with electronic undertones. Think Big Thief
meets LCD Soundsystem, with the raw intimacy of Sufjan Stevens and the cinematic touch that both Bloody
Tourist and Jackson are known for.
