Patricia, my spectacle, waits for a 10:30 train.
She wades through her twenties and soon I'll do the same.
She spends her time at a law firm where she's blacking out the names
of the past friends she held too close and now she can't contain
and I feel her. Nothing stings more than history.

Patricia, my darling dear, stands in a garden still
Where she questions my motives and pulls my strings at will
Robin nests are perched in trees that hover over us
And I still feel beneath her when I finally gain her trust
Because I must. We glide through days and add to our lack of funds

Patricia, what's happened here must really nag at you
I cut my strings off and the southbound robins flew
Onwards and upwards, I say. If that's your point of view.
Or stay on the ground and sit yourself in those church pews 
hands folded. 30 might come and grab hold of me too.
