For the 6th consecutive year already, we're hailing the sun, the summer and the best time of the year. Again, we've tried to find the best music to transport the ultimate summer feeling and yes, we found titles screaming sunshine, outdoor dancing and lots of fun. As always, we're presenting the exclusive contributions a bit earlier under the name "BT",  split into two parts this time, and later as a part of the full "BBQ Techno“ compilation, enriched with highlights out of our repertoire!

Secrets & Lies

Over the last ten years, GREG KOZO released self-produced house music EPs on his labels, Place Blanche or Enchanté Records, and toured the world with one of the most successful French electronic band between 2009 and 2015.
2016 marks the year of the release of his first solo album due in October on ROY MUSIC. Melodic and deep-house oriented, the first single release "YOU" comes with a video, shot, edited and directed by Greg in Bangkok, Thailand..
"SIGNS" is very characteristic of Greg’s club culture, although filled with techno beats.
Last but not least, I:CUBE (Versatile) aka "One of the Godfathers of the French Touch" gives us a deep-house soulful version of "YOU". Hypnotic and Extatic !

Here we go, week three of Big Fish Monday's and BF doesn't show any signs of tiring. He's seems to get talkbox running on 1000 on this one. Picture Roger Troutman fishing on a lake with his girl, when all of a sudden a mysterious cloud rolls in.  Oh no, 88 Swamp Thing's surround the canoe and then pause in place, somehow they can walk on water. Right when it looks like its over for our man they break into the Running Man Challenge. That's what at least we picture when we listen to this. R.i.P. Roger Troutman.

01 C.Vogt & Patrick Jeremic - Nymphs (Snippet)

As &MEs last two EPs on Keinemusik have been hitting the bulls eye of public perception immediately, his KM034 for sure will meet high expectations from DJs and crowd alike. What should one do within this sort of spotlight? Boil up the same old formula? Milk the cow? Play it safe? Well, &ME is rather going for the dont overthink it and just do whatever you like-option. Which in case of this "One On One"-EP is a collaborative effort with English singer/songwriter-enigma Fink thats letting musicality rule over functionality.
The titletrack on A comes creeping over the floor like an ash cloud. Built up on a grainy beat-pattern, having all lightness dashed out by droning bass, before Finks vocals are exorcising the ghosts of a heavy comedown. "One On One" has shaken off the facility of peaktime-consensus, before the straight kick comes in, but even that unmistakeable floor-referral is invalidated by gloomy harmonies after just a few bars. An obvious move against leadsingle-standards, but considering its omnipresent dark narrative and ultimately condensed vibe, "One On One" is without a doubt one of the strongest &ME cuts ever.
The offering on B1 might be considered as a bit more handy, but still: "Cape Coast" is rather grooving along a serious jungle-delirium than delivering easygoing beach-pleasure. A lot of hissing and chirping and rattling going on in between dense synth- and bass-layers, while live-recorded percussions are escalating into frenzy. Tribalhouse of a rather demonic breed.
Finally, Fink is stripping down the original outline of "One On One" into a sinister and subtle Dub-interpretation on B2. Blurred delays, sparse synths and occasionally implemented kick-detonations, reminding of an alarmingly lowered RHR. Meaning even wider room for his charisma breathing croon.

When Stoned idea #4532 was put into play this is what happened : We  round up some fellow herb-merchants to have a go at rolling Von Party & Naduve's 'Cobra Kush' up and hosting their own studio smoke-out. 

1st up is Rodion : BONAFIED big-snake smoke machine. This i can attest to - his mixing desk is one big mixing bowl. You don’t actually have to look for the weed because its everywhere there. Its inside the machines, it’s all over the mouse, and the smoke alarm has dead batteries from being overworked.
