With a "Gold Dusted" sprinkling, Vitamindevo cast a golden tech house glow over the Particles 2015 summer. Now reprising the EP, we deliver a pair of new interpretations from two über cool artists with their fingers on the pulse of the thriving SoCal scene.

Impressing with an innate musical sensibility, US DJ and producer, Mark Slee, carries all before him across the bay area. Involved in the music industry for over fifteen years, DJ appearances including a global presence that has realised gigs in South Africa, Mexico and East Coast USA, has seen Slee charter an impressive voyage. Across his San Francisco hometown, appearances alongside Danny Tenaglia, Guy Gerber and Danny Howells has also provided a conduit for Mark Slee's reputation to radiate across the city through the Listed Bookings agency.

As a producer, Mark Slee's developing talent is no less impressive. A 2013 debut, remixing Autim for Looq has led to a further quarter century of production credits for the label including 2014's trilogy of original releases that revelled in deep house glory. Further work for the likes of Cityfox and Submarine Vibes have continued the deep vibe before a remix of Oliver Lieb opened Mark's account for Proton Music, alongside his chart-topping "Heron Sound" Proton Radio show. Now, returning for a second remix, the Mark Slee interpretation of "Gold Dusted" fuses deep percussive rhythms with his penchant for flowing melodic phrasing. A multitude of additional production adds character and depth to a work firmly rooted in the playful nature of Vitamindevo's original as new melody and staccato vocal cuts combine to impressive effect.

Part of the all-conquering Desert Hearts roster, and one half of the highly impressive, Bells and Whistles outfit, Yannick Rieffel is a man of innumerable talents. With production partner, Zack Yakovlev, the pair have found their sound writ large over southern California with appearances at clubs across San Francisco and, most recently, as part of the huge "Desert Hearts Spring Festival" at Los Coyotes Reservation. A clutch of releases spans a production career that began with a remix for Mioli Music in 2012 while May 2015's "Hands" EP for Desert Hearts went on to feature on both the Evocative and Visceral compilation series, thus marking a high point on Bells and Whistles odyssey.

Now, branching out on his own under a new production moniker, Yannick Reiffel debuts his Foolish Fox soubriquet on Particles. Upholding the sonic keystones that feature in the original, the Foolish Fox remix of "Rip Tide" is a delicious voyage in deep house virtuosity. A decadent beat relishes its carefree relationship to pin point timing as a swung hi-hat rhythm section and deep kick provide the perfect vehicle on which to carry a rich bass groove. Building to a crescendo at the mid-point interval, rhythm, melody and additional production marry in exquisite execution in the final movements.

A pair of gold standard remixes from Mark Slee and Foolish Fox have ensured that Vitamindevo's hallmark sound continues to shine through "Gold Dusted".

@Manjumasi’s 15th offering proves that slow and steady wins the race! Back in July, label mastermind @atish teamed up with San Francisco neighbor @BengalSF for the first time since a debut on @Kindisch. A third of the star studded “atish + friends” EP, “Tortoise” exhibited patient yet tactful intention with each serene stride. Making his production debut for the label, A&R lead @Naveen-G makes this an in-house affair. The New Yorker utilizes modularity in his remix's first and second movements, giving rise to a breakdown full of warm, soaring synths.

Following a whole slew of collaborations with Zazou, the Dutchman returns with his first solo EP since November 2017. A powerful rush of the senses, brewed over the last few years, there's a deep soul and subtle sense of hope in each cut. 

'Wandering' takes the lead. Less of an amble, more of a proud stride; there's something stoic in those sombre rising chords that gradually open out like clouds parting for the sun. Watch out of the epic late entering vocal. She'll take you by surprise in the best possible way. 

The solar soul continues as 'Little Steps Towards The Sun' maintains that sense of optimism with a gentle escalating arpeggio that builds with more and more layers, chords, synths and voices right through to the stunning crescendo. 

And the sun doesn't set until we're caught off-guard by a beautiful 'Rainbow'. A hazy, introspective way to conclude this poignant, evocative tail laced with charmed pianos and glistening guitars, this one is for the dreamers. ELEFAN is the project the bassist and keyboard player Brieuc and the music composer and pianist Lionel, founded in 2019. The two Brussels-based professional musicians have developed a neo-classic inspired style which is rich in textures, heavy storytelling compositions full of unorthodox twists and turns and cinematic soundscapes. Their music forms interactions between the fields of electronica and techno, combined with classic acoustic instruments. With "Silent Space“ they self-released their debut EP early 2019. ELEFAN perform on stage and have already given several concerts in and around their hometown of Brussels. When we received their demo in autumn last year, we knew this would herald a new age for Connaisseur. 

After already having extracted "Blurry“ and "Bells“, we finally present the full "Origins EP“, including the two new titles "Pavement“ and "Six“. 

The cinematic "Pavement“ with its alluring strings, wild beats and sophisticated storytelling, sounds like it were made especially for Connaisseur and is an absolute highlight in our catalogue. 

"Six“ instead, just like „Bells“, masters the balancing act between neo-classic and techno, resulting in a highly intense piece of music.
