Bill as a very creative musician and competent producer added his magical synth sounds to my guitar part and bass line! He then took care of the production and mixing of the song. He did the time-consuming work to achieve this unique and interesting sound of the song. That's how this song came to be - once again, we crossed the Atlantic distance. 🌞

His iconic declaration, "this is a democracy manifest," during his arrest on a day that would reverberate throughout the country, became emblematic of his struggle against systemic injustice, symbolizing the collective yearning for freedom in a democracy that often fell short of its ideals. Jack's confrontation with law enforcement on that fateful day is not just an incident but a pivotal moment in Australian history—a moment that ignited a wildfire of discourse on civil liberties. His arrest by the notoriously corrupt New South Wales police on September 1, 1988, was not merely an individual act of defiance; it was a clarion call to all who believed in the foundational principles of democracy. Democracy Manifest in Spain

My God, my Portion, and my Love

To celebrate 2000, I took a year off to write songs, novels, plays, and stories - and I've been doing that since. At the end of my first year, I won first prize in the USA Songwriting Contest in the Lyric Category for 'Drum Machines and Beauty Queens.' This led to co-writing songs with many excellent musicians, including those represented in songs posted here. 

More recently, I was one of seven finalists in the Crisis Lyric Category of the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest for 'Lockdown Blues,' and one of nine nominees in the 2021 International Song Awards with 'Didn't the River Know' and 'Blue and Gold.'

For the past two years, I've been collaborating with many talented musicians on Kompoz. I release many of these songs here and compile the best into albums released under Captain Stormfield's Trip on Spotify and other platforms (see links below).
