The Bat Man

“If you point one finger, there are three more pointing back at you”! Riffindots doesn’t necessarily tackle the political issues of today, but rather she turns them inward. “Filth Tank” recounts that in all of us is inner turmoil and ugliness and it must manifest itself into an exterior human form that we all abhor but we just can’t get enough! So now your parade float awaits you! 

A seething guitar intro ushers you and a different guitar takes over chiming throughout as if it’s reverberating over a vast lake. Once you’re in, you’ll realize that this track is anthemic.

Filth Tank

Thankful Verse is the sound of gratitude settling deep. Each of the fifteen tracks draws from Scriptures that awaken remembrance, appreciation, and awareness of God’s goodness. The tone is warm and quietly celebratory, pairing soft instrumentation with reflective lyrics that help the listener “count their mercies.” It complements Anxious Verse, Happy Verse, Sad Verse, Lonely Verse, and Angry Verse, forming a full emotional prayerbook in the Verse-Series.

To celebrate 2000, I took a year off to write songs, novels, plays, and stories - and I've been doing that since. At the end of my first year, I won first prize in the USA Songwriting Contest in the Lyric Category for 'Drum Machines and Beauty Queens.' This led to co-writing songs with many excellent musicians, including those represented in songs posted here. 

More recently, I was one of seven finalists in the Crisis Lyric Category of the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest for 'Lockdown Blues,' and one of nine nominees in the 2021 International Song Awards with 'Didn't the River Know' and 'Blue and Gold.'

For the past two years, I've been collaborating with many talented musicians on Kompoz. I release many of these songs here and compile the best into albums released under Captain Stormfield's Trip on Spotify and other platforms (see links below).
