As the Marker of his first steps at Thisbe Recordings, Andrew Claristidge tasked himself with the assembly of what would become the label's first compilation.

At times music gets lost for years in virtuality... And like an archeologist of modern times he wandered into his own archives, rifling through old hard drives and files exchanged with fellow musicians throughout the years to uncover music from the likes of Arnaud Rebotini, Acid Washed, Rambal Cochet, Danton Eeprom, Mount Kismet, Commando Variété & Seb El Zin.

What other than « Black Ink », as a name, could portray the impression brought on by this collection of tracks? A compilation that writes an original scenario between space opera and romantic Sci-fi story. As the music unfolds, the listener discovers treasures spanning genres such as Indie Dance, Leftfield, Detroit Techno, Electro, EBM...

Italian modular live act Marco Cassanelli and Deckard return to T.a.Rock Records with a new mini-LP entitled ‘Splitted’.

Producers Marco Cassanelli and Beppe ‘Deckard’ Massara follow up their previous collaborations on the label, ‘Opus Sectile’ and ‘Pyramiden’ with an improvisational album titled ‘Splitted’. It is an amalgamation of sonic elements closely resembling their live performances and is the result of several studio sessions in Trani, Puglia. Additionally, the release is part of the lineup for “Programmazione Puglia Sounds 2022”, an initiative that supports and strengthens musical projects coming out of the world-renowned South Italian region.

Armed with analog and modular synthesisers, Marco Cassanelli and Deckard take you on an emotive journey inspired by geometry and symmetry used in all visual arts. Characterised by their dynamic compositions, the six tracks flow as one - incorporating components from one another, remixed according to the artist’s mood. From the imaginative dreamscapes of bonus track ‘Abandoned Town’ through to the playful synth lines of ‘Rectangle’, the release offers vibrant textures from start to finish. Its trippy, ambient atmospheres display the pair’s mastery of the instruments they wield and provides another outstanding release for the label.

PREMIERE : Marco Cassanelli And Deckard - Pentagon

Danish producer and DJ Jesper Mygind aka C.M. Art (@jespermygind ) marks a new chapter in his career this September with his debut album ‘Planet Uthboar’, inaugurating his new Uthboar imprint.

Uthboar is being launched to showcase another side of the club music coming out of Copenhagen where Mygind is based, more lo-fi, slower and a bit more experimental, with Planet Uthboar dropping as the first release.

Jesper tells us ‘’I’m very inspired by the whole cassette culture from the late 80’s where mainly experimental artists with a do-it-yourself approach recorded music in their living room and simply released it on tape to the cassette community. For me this shows that music doesn’t have to be that serious and ‘perfect’ all the time, and that you can record interesting music right out of your living room on crappy gear.’’

UTHBOAR : ‘’Planet Uthboar is a conceptual album that takes the listener on a journey to the fictive planet of Uthboar, where two heroes are on a quest to stop the supervillain Art from exterminating every living being on the planet. The album is inspired by old comics and 70’s sci-fi animation movies, so think of a kind of H.G. Wells dark sci-fi style mixed with lo-fi house and electro - all recorded straight to an old dusty cassette recorder!’’

Mad Slow takes references from chip-tune, electro and techno to create this EP: Machine, Jungle and Detroit are the songs that make up this "Distopía". With big basses, robotic sounds and strong highs, the Oaxacan transports us to a half-extraterrestrial atmosphere to enjoy this journey that is transformed a long the way with the incredible remixes.

They are firing away with Planet Rock-informed Electrovibes that will make you want to get your freezes and powermoves on immediately. Needless to say, there are hi-energy chords all over the place on the A-side „Alpha Juno Love“. A similar rhythmic kink is to be observed on the flip „Accroche-Toi À Ton Amour“ as well, just backed by rather straight four to the floor patterns. On top of that they are serving some cut up synth and vocal garnish, rounding the whole thing off to a delicious little dancefloor cakelet.

The next expression by Hunt & Gather label founder and House music raconteur Pezzner. In his latest tale Pezzner, ever the eclecticist and vanguard, transcribes grandiose orchestral expression, Broadway vocal jazz, exalted post-disco, and Balearic tones into a format that we can all gather and dance to.

This is 'Sunrising' and it comes accompanied by two reinterpretations: a propellant electric disco romp by label partner Doza, and a sterling but jovial expression by Deep House legend (and our dear friend) Fred Everything. This release is capped off by Pezzner's playful and flowing reperformance of Herb Alpert's dancefloor classic 'Rise'.  The artwork was created by Robbie Busch, DC Comics writer and penciler.
