One of the most expressive cuts of IN TECHNICOLOR gets a deserved club update with album collaborator ROOSEVELT's revamp of LES DILETTANTES. Originally a slightly no-wavey narrative sporting the idiosyncratic voicework of MIT's Edi Winarni, the track now pushes back its free-form properties for a heavily disco-infused work-out driven by exquisite hooks and a delibarately jam-like mentality. Edi's singing remains largely unchanged, but reveals unexpected glamour within the new context, making this an appropriately flashy addition to IN TECHNICOLOR REMIXE.

@alli-bor-m Alli Borem, the Italian Tech-house don who leapt into action three years ago with a huge debut on Desolat is back in top form with three club weapons for Turbo.

Italian acid-tech-house for dancefloors everywhere:

Continuum Gate is a huge, super-effective DJ tool. A wonky acid top-line hovers over rolling, Spastik-style percussion (which everyone loves)... add in massive kicks and a gritty ride and BOOM, the party gets pazzo. 'Children of the Heart' tweaks the reverb and flecks the resonant acid all over your mind... it sounds like Daniel Avery, dipped in tiramisu. Finally, 'Turbo Rolling Ride' ups the jack quotient, with pumping snares punctuating an infinitely grooving bassline.

Solid, playable bombs.

Ataraxia: "a state of serene calmness" - and a highly appropriate title for two tracks that epitomise Simon Garcia's singular vision of the hypnotic potentiality of house. On the back of his residency at Madrid's MOTEL club, a busy international tour schedule, and high praise from an array of luminaries including Laurent Garnier, Garcia touches down on Poker Flat for the second time very much on the crest of a wave.

The title track's pounding kick and busy hats provide a bedrock for a slow crescen- do of drones and parallel, pulsing synths. Skilfully, layer after layer is added to the mix to deliver a heady, reverberating trans- figuration. Eschewing the easy tricks of big builds and breakdowns, it's an exercise in serenity through meditative repetition.

'A Hot Drink In the Desert' casts a tropi- cal feel with its bustling beat and dancing xylophone. This is soon disrupted by high frequency, Hitchcockian drones, ominous piano strokes and undulating bass tones, taking the tune into haunting soundtrack ter-

We are more than delighted to announce the Mustang EP from Nils Penner on Moodmusic Records. Hammering out amazing EPs on Freerange, Compost Black and Exploited, he is about explode in 2015.

Nils is no stranger to us, having recorded an album and several singles as Penner + Muder in 2010, he was also featured on several compilations on Moodmusic over the last years.

The Mustang EP shows a different angle productionwise, bringing an almost techno feel to Nils deep and emotional music. Raw and uncompromising, we are convinced this is Nils Penners best work to date.

Starting with Mustang, a proper jam if anything mixes driving beats and a massive bassline to undulating synths to a hypnotic theme.

Clouds follows with same esthetics, this time taking a Jacking Chicago feel and elevating it to next level with fierce drumming and majestic synth work.

Next up is Aurora, a deeper affair with modulating synths, a deeper, melodic bassline making it a perfect early morning jam for a discerning dancefloor.

Closing the EP is Lonely, a timeless piece of Nils Penner workout, deep but with a twist to it. Chords gradually gives space for a melancholy vocal, a perfect end of the night song if any.

Aphrohead’s first full-length album, Resurrection, in over decade has recently been released, one of the standout tracks ‘Grown Man Cryy’ sees a single release complete with a superb Carl Craig ‘Brainy Grimlin’ rework.

A heavy Detroit influence can be heard in the Aphrohead classic ‘Grown Man Cryy’, fittingly reworked by the master of the techno scene Carl Craig into a pulsating anthem suspended in time. The original cut (as put into words by DJ Mag) acts to “remind the world of the depths of talent and personality that made Aphrohead such a perennial force previously.”

Aphrohead created a precedent in 90's techno on halcyon labels Bush, Global Cuts, Power Music, Thee Black Label & Radical Fear. His Felix Da Housecat alias went on to form the epicentre of the electro-clash scene and it was through this alias his friendship began with Crosstown Rebels pioneer Damian Lazarus, then at City Rockers. Carl Craig is a key player in Detroit’s techno sound, recently releasing ‘The KMS remixes’ and consistently delivering on his own Planet E label. He began recording at the turn of the 1990's, using a number of aliases to release innovative ambient, techno, breakbeat and future jazz sounds including BFC, Psyche, Paperclip People, 69, Designer Music and Innerzone Orchestra. He is also the co-creator and artistic director for the widely successful Detroit Electronic Music Festival.
