Almost every track name in this mix is named after a music venue in Brooklyn.  BK has been a home away from home and I've been playing at a lot of the clubs/venues around this area for years, so I wanted to pay tribute to that. This time he takes on the Slumber Session and packs in a tonne of unreleased exclusive material to deliver this beautiful, ethereal soundtrack to help you journey through your dreams. Take time, kick back, zone out and drift off. This one is special.

"This Slumber Session mix gave me a great opportunity to make a playlist of something I would want to listen to when unwinding, or to just fall asleep to. I wanted it to be able to exist in the background, without focus, whilst at the same time having elements of detail and beauty scattered amongst the layers of sound unravelling as the mix progresses.

In some ways you can think of it as a soundtrack to a dream. There are moments of calm flowing smoothly into more abstract sections. Textures build to go from sparse emotive landscapes to darker, brooding moments of tension. I wanted it to be dynamic, taking in a variety of styles and influences, whilst giving the listener a coherent experience and painting some interesting images in their minds.

It also gave me the chance to put in a lot of unreleased tracks of mine. I make a wide variety of styles outside of my normal output, so it was great to have an outlet for some of that material. There are also a lot of field recordings I've made over the last few years throughout the mix, including some from my travels. The opening section of music features the sounds of walks in Sydney and San Francisco, which at the time was just some subconscious grabbing of sound recordings without any kind of artistic purpose - it just sounded cool at the time. It seemed fitting when I realised where the sounds were from, as the mix would have been the perfect playlist for a lot of my sleep deprived travels.

I ended up getting so involved putting together this mix that there's a lot of live tweaks of outboard reverb and delay units layered on certain tracks to try and get the sense of space I wanted to achieve and give the mix some breathing space. I find that ambient music can be incredibly beautiful and achieve the range of emotions other music can. I hope that you enjoy the musical selection and can immerse yourself in it, even with the emphasis away from the hooks and rhythms of traditional electronic dance music."

Wicked Woods 2024 Unicorn Lounge Set

My set from this years Wicked Woods Music Festival. 

It has always been a dream of mine to play this stage and I couldn't be more proud to share this mix. Staying true to my roots, this one takes you through a range of genres and BPMs.

To be honest, it's criminal that New Jersey native, Flamingosis, hasn't made a Boiler Room appearance yet. The now Brooklyn-based producer has been on our radar for a while, most notably via Sean Keating's regular office stereo plays — this year's future funkified 'Bright Moments' and the hazy brilliance of 'Pleasure Palette' from 2015 especially.

Both of those releases nonchalantly tread the tightrope between hip hop and disco/funk; often smooth and late summer afternoon-themed with the analogue punch of boom bap.

As he's noted in his description, this 50min blend comes after a similalry warm experience in more ways than one. Upfront 089 is blessed with incredible music that is custom-made for afternoon and late evenings spent horizontal. Gritty funk/rap knockers are shock absorbed by downtempo (sometimes saxophone-laced) jams from Flamingosis and his clearly talented group of friends.

The night was hosted by Hot Since 82’s Labyrinth residency and we had an amazing time. Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Yoshitoshi Radio. This month I have a very special treat for you, I’m coming to you live from Sonic Soul Tribe at Burning Man. It was my first burn in ten years and I loved every second of it. I played for over three hours a Sonic Soul Tribe and it was one of the best sets I’ve done in a while; I got to test out a bunch of new material and unreleased tracks and the vibe was just incredible. Bunny Hops (Alex Hopkins) is a Banff-based DJ and producer known for her genre-blending sets and magnetic energy behind the decks.
A devoted connoisseur of house and bass music, Bunny Hops builds each set with care and intention—whether it’s a high-energy après ski party or a late-night rave. Her sound weaves together elements of disco, funk, UKG, techno, breaks, and more, always tailored to the crowd and moment.

In addition to her performances, she’s a driving force in the Bow Valley electronic music scene. In 2024, she launched Open Decks Banff, a recurring community night spotlighting emerging talent. Her curated monthly series, With Intention, brings diverse electronic artists to Banff, building bridges between local and national scenes.

Her momentum is undeniable. In January 2025, she sold out her biggest headline show to date with 750 attendees. Just months later, her second single Feelings hit #11 on Beatport’s Breaks/Breakbeat/UK Bass chart and landed on several genre shortlists. Festival appearances include HeARTburn and The Downtown Defrost (2025), The Womp and Wicked Woods (2024), and Neon Jungle (2023), solidifying her reputation as one to watch.
