Volcano in the mountain. Lights up as the sun goes down. There’s one white building over there that lights up at 5.12pm. The moon is bright, oh the moon is full tonight. A bird just sits on that branch there. I’ve been sitting here for hours and I know how it goes. Just watching nature. It moves so slowly sometimes.

Oh the beauty in nothing yeah. Oh the magic in nothing yeah. Oh that place where there’s nothing yeah. And everything oh yeah, at the same time. It’s one of those things. It’s one of those things. It’s one of those things.

I got a plant in my room now. It’s healing and I am healing too. Now that I can’t walk. I sit and I wait. I sometimes meditate. Contemplate on, simple things yeah. The meaning of everything yeah. How I dance deep inside. What’s my song deep inside. Who am I beyond the layers and layers of things I thought I was and know I know so many are false. So many aren’t true. I am finding slowly finding. That pearl that is me, inside like when I was a child, playing in diamond halls of magic and mystery.

I’m okay now with my dark side. I’m just realising it is here. I embrace it. I feel it. I let it go. Like I let everything else go. There's no better or worse, in dark or light. One lives with the other for their whole lives. And so I find peace with that who I find deep inside.

Who Am I? - Alexia Chellun (EP - Who Am I?)

Wavelengths of different frequencies bring us information about sound, temperature or the image of the world. Through our senses we form a coherent whole.
That`s why we love the sound of bells.
The sound spectrum of a single tone consists of the basic frequency and several higher frequencies that are a full multiple of the basic frequency. Together they form harmonious parts of the spectrum.
The non-harmonious spectrum consists of partly harmonious parts which are not full multiples of the basic frequency. The non-harmonious parts are added to the harmonious sections of the tone and produce richer instrumental sounds. Another determining factor of timbre is the transitional state which enables us to identify the source.

Light acts similarly. All the colours of the world  fit within the narrow margin of the visible spectrum. The frequency values enable us to reliably identify their influence on our well being and performance. Light affects our state of mind as much as music.

Trust. No plans for the future. Go with the flow. Not exactly catch phrases for today’s calculating, media savvy and self-promoting generation of musical artists, but a way of life for singer-songwriter Alexia Chellun. Eight albums into a productive 12 year journey, she has ridden her wave of trusting and practicing life from a different angle into an entirely new recording experience that has yielded her latest EP, Who Am I? 

As a performing artist Chellun has the ability and patience to follow her instincts without expecting immediate results. This doesn’t mean Chellun lacks a diligent work ethic, but substantiates her belief that having a plan is not necessarily a guarantee for success. Chellun says she “ doesn’t exactly have a ‘calculated vision’, or a lyrical agenda, but she trusts her creative process and that her artistic unpredictability will lead her where she needs to be at any given moment. I’m relaxed. I’m not trying. I’m just singing!” Chellun effortlessly switches between traditional song-writing and the more structured mantra based recordings and she admits the creative process still confuses the hell out of her. “It's all about flow and wherever it takes me I follow.” 
Throughout her song-writing, Chellun exhibits a unique melodic pop sensibility combined with lyrical themes that examine the human race, consciousness, and awareness. She makes an unarguable point when she says “Oneness has no genre.” 

Letting go of constraints, welcoming new experiences without expectation, self exploration, and complete trust in the creative process have been the cornerstones of Chellun’s musical philosophy and life. Her deep and soulful vocals, uncluttered arrangements, and natural dynamics are the perfect companions for her enlightening observations.
