Joe Acheson improvises live remixes of his Hidden Orchestra material, alongside versions of tracks by Floex, Piano Interrupted, Macmaster/Hay, Long Arm, and Clarinet Factory - from the recent 'Reorchestrations' album, which is made up of reworkings of classical, folk and experimental musicians.
All accompanied by one of the Hidden Orchestra drummers, Jamie Graham, whose drums and percussion Joe is also sampling, looping, and effecting live on stage.
The tracks are woven into a single continuous mixtape performance, with looped percussion solos, field recordings and spoken word extracts.

Hidden Orchestra will be doing a full band live-AV tour in Europe and India in November/December 2015.

Την Τετάρτη 23/5 το FAUST Bar-Theatre-Arts υποδέχεται τη μοναδική SugahSpank! και τους The Swing Shoes ζωντανά στη σκηνή του!

Οι Swing Shoes καθιερώθηκαν μετά τον πρώτο τους δίσκο «Ladies and Gents…Here’s The Swing Shoes» (2010)παίζοντας ένα κράμα gypsy swing και παραδοσιακής μουσικής που άνοιξε δρόμους και δημιούργησε ρεύμα. Μετρούν ήδη εννέα χρόνια πορείας στη μουσική σκηνή της Αθήνας. Σε όλη τη διαδρομή διατήρησαν την παρεΐστικη ενέργεια και τη διάθεση για πειραματισμό, στοιχεία που αποτελούν τις κινητήριες δυνάμεις στην πορεία τους. 

Πριν 7 χρόνια συνάντησαν την Sugahspank!, μια φωνή κατευθείαν από το Χάρλεμ του Πειραιά, και μαζί έγιναν ένα από τα πιο περιζήτητα live σχήματα της αθηναϊκής νύχτας. H «μαύρη Πειραιώτισσα» πρωτοεμφανίστηκε στην underground σκηνή δεκατεσσάρων χρονών, ερμηνεύοντας από σόουλ και χιπ χοπ, μέχρι ροκ, μπλουζ και σουίνγκ. Έκανε το δισκογραφικό της ντεμπούτο το 2008 με το σόλο άλμπουμ «The incredible, the invisible» κερδίζοντας το ελληνικό και το διεθνές κοινό. 

Πλέον δίνουν μαζί συναυλίες σε σκηνές και φεστιβάλ στην Αθήνα και την υπόλοιπη Ελλάδα, ενώ τα καλοκαίρια του 2012 και του 2014 παίζουν μπροστά σε χιλιάδες κόσμο στον κήπο του Μεγάρου Μουσικής και συμμετέχουν σεφεστιβάλ στην Κύπρο και τη Γερμανία. Πολυσυλλεκτικοί και ανήσυχοι, καταπιάστηκαν με τα blues και τα gospel και σταδιακά αρχίζουν να συνθέτουν original υλικό, το οποίο ηχογραφούν ζωντανά το 2014. Το άλμπουμ Sugahspank! & The Swing Shoes “A Holy Show" γίνεται δεκτό πολύ θερμά από μουσικοκριτικούς και κοινό. Μουσικά, οι αναφορές τους είναι ριζωμένες στην παράδοση αλλά οι εκτελέσεις τους είναι ανατρεπτικές.

Τo ταξίδι μετρά πολλά live, ατέλειωτα χιλιόμετρα, και συνεχίζει χωρίς εκπτώσεις προς το άγνωστο. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι πως το πάθος για τη μουσική είναι ακόμα στις αποσκευές τους.

25 years ago today, on the 4th December 1993, Porcupine Tree made its first ever live appearance at the Nag's Head in High Wycombe, UK.  By then 2 albums and an EP had been released under the name (and a third one was half finished), all of which gave the impression that Porcupine Tree was a band, when in fact it was a solo project, just me messing about in my bedroom studio, although Colin and Richard had both guested on one song each on Up the Downstair released earlier that year. Positive press and a growing fanbase had led to increased pressure for live appearances, so in late 1993 I asked 3 brilliant musicians I knew, Colin Edwin (from my home town of Hemel Hempstead), Richard Barbieri and Chris Maitland (both of whom had played with my other band No-Man) to join me in forming a real band line up of the project. For some reason they all agreed, and on the strength of the buzz about the project, Richard Allen at my then record company Delerium managed to book this show, as well as 2 others and a BBC radio session.  After one week of rehearsals this was our first ever gig in front of an audience, performing a 7 song, 70 minute set in a backroom of a pub to about 200 people that had traveled from all over the country.  The first song played was Voyage 34. which you can find elsewhere on the web, but here is a mixing desk recording of the second song Always Never.  This would have also been the first time I had sung in front of an audience, at least since the days of my various school bands, so I can only imagine now how nervous I must have been at the prospect!  

The rest, as they say, is history...
