Alex studied violin and piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, before going on to read music at Goldsmiths College, University of London and specialising in composition.

Alex composes extensively for dance, drama and film, and is Co-Director and Associate Artist with Theatre Re; currently touring the company’s new production Bluebelle, which is Alex's sixth commission with the company and premiered at the London International Mime Festival in January 2022. Previous works with the company have toured nationally and internationally to North America, Brazil, Peru, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico, and also included a 3-week run on Broadway. Alex received an 'Off West End' Best Sound Design award nomination for his score for the company's show 'The Little Soldiers'.

Other recent composition credits include music for pieces performed at the Elixir Festival (Sadlers Wells), Resolution! Festival (The Place), the International Festival of Dance in Poland and the European Cultural Congress, along with commissions from a diverse range of sources such as the Roundhouse Choir, Fourth Monkey, Middlesex University, production companies Wise Buddah, Duck Duck Moose and Sons, Floodwater Films and author/speaker Mindy Gibbins-Klein.

As an experienced session musician Alex has worked with many artists in the recording studio, live on stage and on TV/radio. Alex is currently writing the debut album for jazz trio Future Gold and is the keys session player for Bastien Keb. Prior to this, Alex played keyboards for Bright Light Bright Light whom he performed with at SXSW, Bestival, Festival No. 6, British Summer Time Festival, ITV's 'Weekend' programme, BBC Radio 1's 'live session' and on a UK/European tour supporting Elton John in 2014/15. Alex has previously sessioned for the Noisettes and also worked with Glass Pear as a keyboard player, violinist and guitarist. Glass Pear had songs featured on TV shows Grey’s Anatomy, 90210, Bones, Vampire Diaries and One Tree Hill, which led to a North American tour in 2009 and a live session on Baltimore KCRW radio station.

Alex also currently performs with award-winning improvised comedy group Austentatious, as an accompanying violinist. Alex joined the group in 2014 and has toured nationally with them every year since, performing at events such as the Bath Literature Festival (Bath Forum) and Udderbelly Festival (Southbank Centre). The group currently perform regularly in the West End.

Alex Baranowski is a composer based in London, and a graduate of Paul McCartney’s LIPA.

He was nominated for a Tony award for The Cripple of Inishmaan on Broadway (working with Michael Grandage and Martin McDonagh); won a Music + Sound Award for his score to BAFTA nominated film McCullin; and his ballet adaption of 1984 for Northern Ballet recently won the prestigious South Bank Award for dance after a sold out run at Sadler’s Wells.

He is presently working on a number of film projects and completing his first album.

Scott is known for his distinct qualities in his diverse and exceptional dj sets. Since Scotts dj career started in 1995, he has stayed true to his passion of cool, soulful and diverse house music. Deep, Jazz and soul are just some of the elements of his sets.

Its all about timing, in his dj sets, scott doesn't nessesarily stay with one style of house. Intelligently chosen, a soulful commencement can harmonise perfectly with a deep or almost techy section of his set. Scott is capable of controlling the ambiance of the evening, but at the same time, without making any compromise concerning his very own definition of what is good music, created for the love of music, not from a commercial stance.

As well as djing, Scott has also had success as a producer, as SOUL KITCHEN, himself and production partner scored a top 3 MINISTRY OF SOUND DANCE CHART hit in 2005 with the " Just Friends Ep"
which was played all over the UK and Europe, and presented a successful Radio Show on The SSRadio Network, The Soul Kitchen Radio Show, ran for 2 years and was the number one Show on a Tuesday Night.

Djing has taken Scott all over the UK and Europe, venues he has played in over the years include, Ministry Of Sound (London), Hed Kandi (London), Stereosushi (London), Essence (London), Shindig (Newcastle), Colours (Glasgow) and Halikarnas (Bodrum), BCM (Majorca), Cafe Mambo (Ibiza), the festival Circuit has also been a big part of his resume playing at T in the park, EH1 and Global Gathering.

In 2010 Scott was absolutely delighted to take the Residency in the CLG Flagship Nightclub, CITY Falkirk and enjoyed a brilliant two year residency there,  making it the best House room In Scotland On a Saturday Night.

Scott believes that a lot of dj's have lost the meaning of what soul means, it can take many forms, from deep n dirty house filled with stabbing keys and big percussion, or it can be a sultry soulful track that truly takes you to a higher place. Deep is an understanding that your body connects with, whether your concious was searching for it or not - deep moves you and grooves you.

After returning to the pre club circuit for 3 years, Scott.s final residency was in the Beautiful One Princes Street Cocktail bar in Falkirk. Now semi retired, Scott still is at the forefront of the local scene and has never ruled out a return to the turntables if the right moment arose.
