Sylvia Tosun is an award-winning American artist, performer, singer, songwriter, and social activist whose musical prowess encompasses opera, pop, world, and electronic dance music.

A classically trained soprano accepted into New York’s prestigious Juilliard School of Music at age 15, Tosun began her career performing with the New York Grand Opera Company and shortly afterward became one of the lead vocalists of the multi-platinum selling Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Not one to stick to a single style, Tosun’s versatility has allowed her to thrive in a myriad of musical environments besides Classical. In 2002, Tosun released "Anthem," an album featuring 10 of the world’s national anthems sung in their native tongues, which landed on the New York Times’ Top 21 List. In 2004, Tosun was a featured performer alongside Alicia Keys and Cyndi Lauper at the Great Wall Concert in Beijing, China. 

Between 2005 and 2014, Tosun released three more albums and scored multiple U.S. and U.K. chart hits, including 2008’s “Underlying Feeling,” which landed in the top 20 on the Billboard Dance Radio Chart, with heavy rotation on Sirius/XM and other radio platforms, and “Push and Pull,” a #1 hit on the Billboard Club Chart in 2010. 

In 2011, Tosun became one of the most recognizable voices in electronic dance music with “An Angel’s Love,” which was featured on #1-ranked DJ Armin van Buuren’s “Universal Religion Chapter 5” compilation. An ode in memory of her grandmother, “An Angel’s Love” quickly grew into a worldwide crossover hit, and is considered one of the defining vocal trance anthems of the decade. 

Tosun released a steady stream of trance hits following “An Angel’s Love,” including “Eye2Eye,” the theme song for famed Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila’s “Future Sound Of Egypt 350” world tour. She has also collaborated frequently with Armin van Buuren protégé and Moldovan trance prodigy Andrew Rayel, first on a remix of “An Angel’s Love” and later on “There Are No Words,” “We Bring The Love,” and “Winterburn.”

Besides Tosun’s many accolades as a vocalist, her skills as a songwriter have merited her a BMI Songwriters Hall of Fame Award for Excellence in Songwriting, and five 1st place USA Songwriting Awards. Her music has been featured in film and television for companies such as HBO, Showtime, CW11, NBC, ABC, as well as Universal and Sony Pictures.

Tosun's music has been a platform of expression not only as a singer/songwriter but also as a human rights and social activist, primarily for the LGBTQ community and the US Military. She is an unprecedented two-time recipient of the USO's Ambassador to Goodwill Award. Her project “VenSun,” a musical alliance with French DJ/Producer David Vendetta, produced the Billboard Top Ten song “The Dragon Flies” as well as “Love is Love,” a musical celebration of equal rights and personal freedom.

The Beginning

On May 26th, Sea to Sun will proudly release, “Welcome to the World”, a white-hot new single from Bangladesh born, Toronto based, trance talent Saad Ayub and acclaimed, New York singer-songwriter, Sylvia Tosun.  Sea to Sun, co-owned by Tosun, recently joined some of the most notable record labels in electronic music, on the Black Hole label roster and selected “Welcome To The World” as the anthem to mark this achievement.

Sylvia Tosun is an artist whose career has transcended genres, captivating music lovers around the world.  She is a classically trained soprano who studied at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York City, going on to top the Billboard Club Charts with tracks like “Push And Pull”, as well as releasing the seminal vocal trance anthem “An Angel’s Love” on the influential Armada Music label. She has worked with numerous big names in the field including, Aly & Fila, Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Andrew Rayel. Always combining emotive delivery with meaningful lyrics and classic songwriting, she is a star who continues to shine brightly. 

With his distinct, pulsating sound, Bengali-born trance ambassador Saad Ayub has carved out a special place for himself in the dance music community.  Inspired by the fresh sound of psychedelic and melodic trance, he is become known for masterfully combining the light and dark sides of the genre and creating a euphoric blend of music that stimulates the body and mind.  Between them, Saad and Sylvia create a true state of bliss on this new single.

Entitled “Welcome To The World” and available as a radio edit and original mix, the track soars to the heavens from the off. Sylvia’s dreamy, ethereal lyrics muse on spiritual themes and build to a big chorus drop that will get every dancefloor jumping. After an epic breakdown and spine tingling synth sequences, the beats drop once more and race through a starry night sky with fist pumping energy. Add in some tender tinkling keys and more rippling arpeggios, and you have a sure-fire, heart-swelling summer anthem in the making.

Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie - This Is What It Feels Like (G.O. Remix) Live@ASOT600, Beirut

French Skies returns to Pulsar Recordings following the release of his single ‘Hieroglyph’, this time with an EP, entitled Calista, comprised of two original tracks and a remix.

The title track of the new release is a fast-tempo’d emotional tune that takes off with a looping melody. Slowly moving towards a drop that brings in echoing sounds, the tune eventually turns to a calm piano melody accompanied by orchestral instruments in the breakdown.

During the uplift, the melodic loop jumps back in, rapidly rising towards the skies and leading to a drop that will get the listeners pumping their feet to the beat.

Blue Tente’s take on the track is an even more emotional and uplifting version, with an underlying bass, and a sharp piano melody that leads the way from the get-go and into the melodic loop, followed by a heavily-instrumented emotional breakdown - all building a smooth journey that leads straight into an epic, mind-blowing uplift. Following the drop, the piano melody comes back in, slowing the listeners towards a calm stop.

‘Sun Dream’ is a more tension-filled track that starts with a driving bass and is slowly taken over by a synth that constantly rises and leads towards a bright, upbeat melody. This is followed by a short breakdown that slowly moves towards the climax as the synth and bass return, leading to a heavy drop, bringing back all the sounds that dance in chaotic harmony.
