The 38th release on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital comes from the mind of Gonzalo Luque, better known as Soulwerk.  Based in Madrid, this young artist has already worked with major international labels such as Hope Recordings, Saved, Cr2, Great Stuff, and Stereo Productions, among many others.  'Stuck In My Mind' immediately caught our attention with its rolling bass groove, spacey chords, and hypnotic vocals.  We knew a talented artist like Soulwerk required equally talented remixers, so rounding out the package is an upbeat and bouncier remix provided by Australian producer Jamie Stevens, followed by a deeper rendition from Tel Aviv duo Jos & Eli.

Founding member of the celebrated, award-winning electronica act Infusion, Jamie Stevens has built an impressive solo career with releases on Bedrock, microCastle, and Lost & Found.  His recent collaboration with John Digweed and Nick Muir resulted in an epic techno production for the 'VS' album, while his glorious 'The Wonder of You' EP caused a massive stir hitting number 1 on Beatport's Tech House chart.  The instantly recognizable remixes created for the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Booka Shade, and Cid Inc have been no stranger to praise and support from the biggest names in the industry.

An iconic artist with a legion of fans and a unique talent for creating timeless and lasting, dance music, Dousk has been present at the underground dance scene's top table for well over a decade. Now returning with brand new original music for the first time since 2013, Proton Music is delighted to welcome back Dousk and his twin-track, "French Sauce" EP.

Since an unforgettable, eponymously-titled debut EP for John Digweed's Bedrock in 2004, Dousk has consistently captured and maintained the attention of the underground dance fraternity. A classically trained musician in piano, orchestration and jazz, as well as the more contemporary spheres of electronic music production and engineering, the Dousk sound has been writ large across the sets and playlists of fans and peers alike as he continually embraces new technology in his music. A world-renowned DJ, regular performances in the Athens capital and across his Greek homeland have been supplemented by global appearances across the continents in Kiev, Tel Aviv, New Delhi and Cairo, to name but a few. Furthermore, the monthly "Acrobatics" show on Frisky Radio has provided an additional platform to showcase the Dousk sound and the brand new Bumpy Ride imprint a further vehicle to traverse the underground scene with his new material.

With several full-length albums within his repertoire, Dousk's music has also found a place on multiple television and radio advertisements, not to mention appearances on worldwide global hit TV shows including "CSI", Dr Who" and "My Name is Earl". With over 400 production credits to his name, the Dousk sound has been a regular feature on the likes of Klik Records, Tulipa and the Greek owned, Vapour Recordings. 

Proton Music has also been a welcome addition to the Dousk portfolio with 2013's twin-track, "Bisocial" EP, a modern-day classic. Remixes that have included reworkings of DNYO, Silinder and Matter have been further illustration of his talents as Proton Music is delighted to announce a brand new original EP in the shape of "French Sauce". 

The title track is fused with sumptuous dance-floor groove that combines rhythm and bass in body-shaking energy. Opening with a subterranean bass line of epic proportions, combined with a deep and lilting groove, stereo-panned white noise effects signal intent as intermittent spot effects rich in reverb and delays combine with sumptuous textured pad to create a multi-faceted sonic architecture. Growing in intensity, a loquacious French vocal sample from eSoreni adds depth until a sublime melodic zenith is reached, dropping away, once more, into stratified rhythmic layers that showcase a rare talent.

The partner track is marked by a strong techno beat and rapid-fire hats that create the perfect backdrop for a looped sample to proclaim, "Pieces Put Together". A stepped melodic phrase blends metallic overtones with oriental phrasing before a collage of textures and sounds fire across the stereo spectrum. A meandering arpeggio sequence adds to the aural collage before a crystalline lead cuts like an acetylene torch through the upper frequencies in a work of skill, technique and genuine craft.

Returning to Proton Music, "French Sauce" is the perfect accompaniment for an exquisite rhythmic dish, of Michelin star quality, served up by Dousk.

Making a welcome return to the label with their brand new single 'Witchcraft, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic bring it together for an extraordinary release that shows a startling amount of potential. 

They start us off by using rhythmic beeps and mellow synth stabs to create a driving rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting, which fires with all guns blazing to produce a club monster that growls. Combining the best of both worlds, they have come up with something unique and distinctive to make this release extra special while applying an extra dose of groove and warmth to this incredible tune. ‘Witchcraft’ stands for a fool proof and state-of-the-art piece of music, which will readily make you, take note and amaze in equal measures. 

Adding to our list of all-star remixers, we brought in Jimmy Van M & Ernesto Romeo who know a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing reworks, turning their mix into an irresistible track using the original elements with perfection. The guys layer more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed tech percussion and their trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. Their rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word. 

Next up we have none other than Terje Saether, famed for his endless high quality progressive house productions, whose interpretation sounds mature, effortless, and full of subtle nuance. Never one to be bound by any particular style or genre, this is him taking a deeper route. The combo delivers a bittersweet, quality fuelled, melancholic rework that still manages to get your toe tapping with each downbeat. Epic stuff!

Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic’s ‘Witchcraft’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that they’re true masters of their craft. Massive stuff that is not to be missed!

Alex Warp is Alex Escohotado's Electronic Alter-ego.
Born in Ibiza in 1979 and raised in Madrid, he has followed closely the world of electronic music, since his father, the philosopher Antonio Escohotado, founded "Amnesia Ibiza" on 1976, what many consider as the birth of the modern "Underground".

His first track "Beside Me", together with the cult producer Prompt, was edited in 2004 by a sublabel of Stereo Productions and it was a resounding success at european level. So much so, that in 2006 Dj Tiësto (World No.1 then) bought the rights to reissue the song in its "super-sales" In Search of Sunrise 5, from which it became finally a worldwide success.

Since then, he has coined numerous hits on labels such as Pacha Recordings and Ministry of Sound ("Switching Ligh" - Carlos Jean Rmx), Sunny Recordings ("Kiwi" with Darío Nuñez), Alma Music (Warm Breeze), Highgrade and 7Noise (" Sounds White "- Jazz Prompt Live Band), Songbird or Sirup among others.
