London-based duo @pistashio-wav gear up to release their debut single 'Without You', landing tomorrow on all platforms.

Combining their love for hard electronic, ambient, and pop music, 'Without You' merges breaks and contrasting vocal samples atop shimmering leads, making for a juxtaposition of elements.

“'Without You' was recorded in our bedroom studios using live drum machines/synths and programmed elements," say the duo on their debut production.

"Sir Hiss explores unique liminal spaces, at the hitherto-unexplored nexus where proto-grime meets Drexciyan aqua-electro" - is how we imagine some publications might describe this, a thundering two-tracker on his ever-more essential No More Mailouts imprint. 'Set Speed' may reference classic DJ Krust in the title, but the intense, writhing mid-bass and precision drum work fits right into the waves currently being surfed by DJs such as Ben UFO, Sam Binga and the Zenker Brothers.

'Boom Sound' leads with the kind of grimey flute Wonder dreamt of back in 2003, matching it with a super-direct square bass straight from the JME production archives, but again, the rolling hats and robo-funk clap work places this firmly into the grime / electro crossover world Hiss is boldly exploring in his work.
