Novo Line – aka Berlin's algorave maestro Nat Fowler – delivers a noisy, ultramarine voyage into the depths of his archaic hardware. Clawing at the periphery between leftfield electronics and avant-garde pop, Zeit is an entirely new sonic universe, eerily familiar yet utterly uncharted. A visionary synthesist, Fowler is renowned for his productions that make use of mainly '80s equipment including vintage digital synths, discarded MIDI Hi-Tech, tape delay and even an ancient Atari ST computer. But, despite the aged technology, the result is far from nostalgic.

'Ain't That a Mess' slams in with Monica Kremidi's crooning à la Little Annie Anxiety with reeving car engines and guitar-rock static fed through a pan effect. Multilayered melodies soar on 'Stein', the pounding drums matched by gliding strings, crafting that holy grail of cavernous, booming textures and uplifting euphoria that mark out the most transcendent of rave tracks. The deceptively gentle opening bars of 'Morning Star' are interrupted by a viscously squelching bassline, Cass McCombs' vocals dancing deliciously with the raw beat.

Rejecting contemporary tech-fetishism, Novo Line has a near-supernatural ability to exorcise novel sequences, weaving together a record that speaks to the ghost in the machine.

Cat Gadget explores the electronic music of the past decades. The Graz-based DJ is part of the Grrrls DJ Crew. Cat Gadget's vinyl sets cannot be reduced to one genre, but are often characterised by Italo sounds, driving EBM beats or spherical synth sounds. She started collecting vinyl in her teens and has not stopped since.

This mix was recorded live at Music House in Graz on Walpurgis Night.

Dalmata Daniel, with the seventh installment of the lathe cut series, invites us on a time travel journey.

11 years ago, on a hot and acidic July evening, the SILF guys secluded themselves in the Ballacid studio in the concrete jungle of Újpest to dive into the night with their analog setup. During the jam session, led by the TB303 bass synthesizer, these two timeless classic acid variations were born from a single theme.

'Tot-O' is the darker, more rugged stomper, while 'Tot-A' is the lighter, more upbeat acid-house track, featuring the playful use of the TR707 and TR727 drum machines by the duo.

So as you've gathered we're gearing up our rolators for the 20th anniversary of Creme Org, and what better way to do so than with a look into our rich and checkered past.
We start our journey with Legowelt's classic Under The Panda Moon, originally released in 2003, in the slipstream of the madness that was Disco Rout. This in my opinion is an absolute monster, and one of the milestones in the Von Neumanesque sprawl of Legowelt's back cat. 
It marks the evolution from the more staccato early electro sound into dreamy swamp lands where Italo and heavy mid-paced techno dance around the may pole, a journey that would ultimately lead to the menace of Squadra Blanco, before taking another few twists and turns and end up where we're at today. 

This release is all the more special for me since Creme was still young and everything was new and a few wide eyed nerds had just seen the world open up before them. It was a very exciting time on the West Coast in general, which saw classic after classic banged out at a staggering pace.. Orgue Electronique, Alden Tyrell, Parallax Corporation,  Novamen, Bangkok Impact, Bunker, Vielwexx, Clone and so many others came out phazers blazing. This was without a doubt the most exciting and creative scene to be a part of at the time. 

But let's cool it with the misty eyes and turn our attention back to this record. It sound just as fresh today as it did then, in spite of the many knock off attempts over the years. There is just something in this juxtaposition of dark synths and playful, borderline naive melodies that no one has matched yet.
