About the Release:
Originally “This is Berlin Underground” was a series of events starting in 2010 with the aspiration of promoting Berlin Underground Techno and spreading it to various locations all over Europe. This network prospered fast, turning into a cross-boarder venture, connecting artists in different countries bonded by their love for this kind of music. We see ourselves as an antipole to the increasing commercialization and selllout of electronic dance music, while we try our best to avoid to be limited to one site or city, for that matter… Tastes differ, as everybody knows, and since the birth of the term “Techno” there's a fierce debate about what “Techno” actually means; Through the means of “Berlin Underground” we want to spread our interpretation and idea of “Techno”.

One of the foundation artists on Samurai Horo, ASC is an essential part of the labels rebirth with the ’Geocentric Systems’ EP. Taking the Grey Area sound into heavier, darker territory, ‘Aphelion’ and ‘Perihelion’ formed the core of this EP with their fervent BPM trickery. These tracks are Techno rebuilt with dizzying sensory loss, adding a weightless intensity that feels like a constant attack. ’Passel’ and ‘Geocentric Systems’ offer a dubbed out version of the approach, heavy on the intricate sound design that has become the ASC trademark.

Originally released in 1994, ‘Internal Empire’ marks a point of transition for Robert Hood moving on from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance. Robert Hood advanced uncovering the power of true minimalism. Deep soul through a simplicity that showed how much could be done with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unmatched spirit of this sound, influencing generations to come.

"25 years ago, I was faced with the challenge of following up on 'Minimal Nation’. I cancelled all my tour dates for that summer, setup my studio in the living room and began to work on 'Internal Empire'. My intention was to create something distinctively different.
