Drawing equally on the lyrical density of 60s Dylan, the anti-establishment libertarian sentiments of punk-rock and the experimental leanings of a Jeff Tweedy or Scott Walker, Al Grantham weaves a unique tapestry of music and words. Born in Toronto and raised in the small town of Paris Ontario, Grantham enjoyed a brief stint as lead guitarist for the alt-country outfit The S. Detweilers, before re-directing attention towards his acoustic-based solo material in 2007. After graduating Seneca College's Independent Music Production course in December of 2009, Grantham began recording a debut album of earlier songs adorned with strange arrangements that he performed himself. Entitled "When I Was A Boy..." Grantham released the album independently on December 31st, 2010.

After the album's release, Grantham founded the band Low Hanging Lights with former childhood friend Ian Boos. The group released a three song EP entitled "Small Talk" in February of 2012, and are currently back in the studio working on a follow up, while playing shows around the GTA.

Grantham currently resides in the west-end of Toronto; working on a follow up to "When I Was A Boy..." while devoting equal attention to Low Hanging Lights.
