[26/05/2023] “O son of Ādam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you..." - By Abu Fuḍayl ‘Abdur Raqīb حفظه الله. Khutbah at Masjid Salafi, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khutbah:

- Benefits from the Ḥadīth Qudsī, “O son of Ādam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Ādam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Ādam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would in turn bring you forgiveness nearly as great as (the earth)." [Reported in At-Tirmidhī]
- The three means of attaining forgiveness mentioned in this hadīth.
- Making du’ā, along with having hope that Allāh will forgive you.

- Understanding that a Companion being specified with a particular trait does not mean that that trait is not present in the rest of the Companions. 
- Chapter: The Virtues of Abū Dharr (رضى الله عنه)
- Ḥadīth #156.
- Proof for the truthfulness of Abū Dharr and that he was far removed from lying and at-Tawriyah. 
- The meaning of التورية (at-Tawriyah). 
- An example of Sufyān ath-Thawrī (رحمه الله) using tawriyah. 
- Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) on when it is acceptable to employ tawriyyah, and the reason he prohibited utilising it if there is no need. 
- Proof that there is some scope for using indirect speech in order to avoid lies (if there is a need).
- Caution regarding continuously using tawriyah.

1. What is advised for parents to do when they have a newborn? Is the taḥnīk and reciting the adhān in the ear from the Sunnah?
2. Should the father do anything specific in the delivery room?
3. For the one who is memorising Sūrah al-‘Alaq, if he is repeating the āyah of prostration many times, is it upon him to make sajdah every time?
4. What is your view regarding what some of the ‘ulamā say with respect to wearing garments and sports gear made by Nike?
5. Is it allowed for women to wear what is referred to as the tikka (the jewellery Indian and Pakistani women wear on the forehead)?

In this beneficial audio, Ustaadh Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq goes through a well-known hadeeth which highlights the importance of our intention when doing an action. 

An example of the need for a Muslim to purify their intention is when seeking knowledge. The speaker mentions the methods and benefits of this as an encouraging reminder to the listener.

"Whoever aims to acquire knowledge all at once, it will leave him all at once. Rather knowledge should be acquired over the passage of days and nights"
