Earlier this year my friend Atik Yomin  (@othiqivmin) „challenged“ me to write an album consisting of tracks in odd meters only after listening to my track ‚Trickle’ which is written in 5/4.

Then in early September I got my hands on a decent trigger sequencer by Doepfer (Thanks to @synthetic-arts !) and to test it in depth together with my crazy Bigger Dumber Sequencer by Beers, I pretty much immediately started this odd times project, and three weeks later finished it. Believe me, I had a blast! 

First up, as always, is the last track I made. It comes in 8/8 – counting 123 123 12 – and in the end it comes back 'into balance', landing on a straight four on the floor rhythm.

Beneath a derelict observatory on the city’s forgotten edge, a clandestine order gathers around a sigil-etched disk said to predate human memory. When a black tarantula—massive, ancient, unnervingly sentient—crawls from the shadows to claim the circle, the ritual they thought they controlled veers into a revelation none of them expected. The creature is not a summoned guardian but an archivist of living secrets, weaving history, prophecy, and catastrophe into strands only it can read. As symbols ignite and old oaths unravel, the initiates realize they haven’t called it forth at all—they’ve merely stepped into its library, and the spider has begun its quiet, meticulous act of choosing which of them will be preserved… and which will be rewritten.
