Hi. To anyone who's willing to read this, I go by the name of Devious. 
I started putting beats and synths together at around the age of 12/13, using a program called ejay. I was young, and i had no idea on how to make music. Didn't play any instrument at that time, so I managed with what I had; a demo version of a computer program that had a bunch of pre recorded patterns. It was basically a very colorful sequencer.
It was at the age of 15/16 that I started racking machines with Reason. Of course, as you may imagine, at first it was all gibberish to me... Cables what? Were? So... I want to sidechain...spider what? Dr.Rex???? Yea, for the first year and a half, probably two, I had absolutely noooo idea what I was doing or what I had to do in order to obtain a certain sound. But, although it might sound like Reason was a waste of my time, let me assure you, it was not. It thought me a valuable lesson on why machines had to be connected a certain way if I wanted, I don't know, get a more suby kick, or maybe just a small reverb at the end with a filter or a parametric eq to cut a certain frequency that is being augmented by said reverb...that sort of things. 
Reason was a great tool to train my mind to work in a studio environment. But it was to RAW for me, and I couldn't had VST's to it, a world I just recently had discovered. New sounds and other ways of working with sound? I have to put my hand on that I taught. And so I got Ableton Live, that came with an M-Audio Midi Keyboard, that I still use to this day. Oxygen 8v2. For starters I do advise something like that. Small and cheap.
It was about two years ago that I really started improving, seeing I was gaining the habit of getting home and spending the rest of the day sitting in front of my computer screen, trying new things and searching for weird noises and sounds and vibrations...
Funny fact. I really got into production when I first came in contact with dubstep, and bass music in its all. I loved jungle and drum and bass, I loved the rhythm and the feelings it conveyed, but drum and bass had got to that stale point that most electronic music suffers....that Non evolving state were people found the formula to make a certain genre, and they stop being inventive. The thirst for new sounds dies when something becomes massively consumed. Anyway, I was young, and there was almost no underground movement in Portugal (not that I knew of). And dubstep was new, fresh, it had so much stuff that I liked, that profound bass, that minimalist feel. And than I went to my first dubstep only venue. Did 3 hours in a car, with 8 of my friends, to get to Porto to see Distance play. Went mental. Chestplate was not even a thing back than I think..
I'm not looking to be the next big thing or anything like that. I just want to make music, because that makes me feel good, and I want ppl to listen. Really listen and tell me what they think, what they like and dislike, any constructive criticism is also welcome... Anyone can badmouth anything... Just browse YouTube for a funny video, scroll down twice, and I bet you'll find some "guy" who thinks that his opinion on what you do or what you say is going to, somehow, change the world.
My advise to any new comers...i Hope you have a nice subwoofer, because, as I mentioned before, my music is bass driven. You either get some nice headphones or a good system or forget it. This ain't no laptop music (I know. Music Hitler. LOL. It's a joke, seeing most of the dub heads I know are purists^^)
