For two months, I worked as a hostess on a prince's sailboat, seeking both clarity and a bit of extra cash. The hardest part? Going that long without touching a musical instrument. Just two evenings before leaving, I composed this piece on a tiny two-octave keyboard. Time seems to stretch and get present, mirroring the rhythm of sailing. This piece emerged from the deep introspection and urgency that only significant departure can inspire. Because everyone deserves to face their own abyss.

Alice Zecchinelli is a polyhedral composer whose greatest dream, in life as in music, is to bring different worlds together.

Visionary, experimental and instinctive - but at the same time classical - in her approach to music, she acts as an orchestrator and conductor for applied music. Loving to collaborate with other artists to put music in support of different fields, she is often asked to write pieces for orchestra, string quartet and brass ensemble, as well as to create imaginific soundscapes for poetry and video art. 
In 2022, her “Ripresa” was premiered at the Civita Festival by the Domenico Mazzocchi Orchestra, together with music by Elgar, Britten and Webern. 

Whether it is electronic symphonies, film music or so-called “pure music”, Alice puts her signature everywhere, combining a strong descriptive ability with an inescapable share of mystery, like a gateway to another reality. 

In her music, she was told, you can feel the vibration of the unknown.
