supercollider showcase (2013 - 2010)

The online meetings we have all become accustomed to are often accompanied by the experience
of being distracted and drifting off into daydreams. In this piece, you will take part in a journey into
the mind of a host in an online meeting with multiple participants. You will hear how the ringing of
a phone, a car horn, or a glitch in the online stream trigger an irresistible sonic journey in which all
these events dissolve and abandon their old meaning to form new sound worlds that emerge from
their material.

Mechanical Moon - Tchad Blake Remix

During the summer in 2011 I spent a lot of time recording soundscapes in the suburb "Stocki" in Lodz, Poland. In one of the walks near the road "Skalna", I found an abandoned mining site. The site's particular sound-world and atmosphere fascinated me instantly. Being a big hole in the ground with reliques of previous work, it was visually and aurally shielded from the city, spreading a timelessness to the spectator which was strengthened by the random squeaking of the old rusty machinery. The ruins of a metal reinforced concrete structure (was the reinforcement not strong enough or did someone just dump it there?) provided the ideal location to put down the recording equipment and start enjoying life with experiencing the space, time and the sun: i was listening to the insects, the creaking of the machinery, the breath of the wind traced in the trees and behaviour of the insects, the passing airplanes. i also played with throwing tiny stones to hear how they their impact on the concrete floor would sound like. And actively listening to the environment made me aware of it's own "musical" rhythms: the spatial interplay of the insects (and stones), the slower coming and going of the wind, the looming of airplanes, the omnipresence of the metal. Thanks to the location recorder and a couple of microphones I could capture the space's sonic aspects and to fabricate a vivid, surreal and "dramatized" version of the found landscape.

Unreleased from my Dew Doo man record label via Def Jam in 1990 I introduce Mic Teluxe . Along with the group Resident Alien these were the 2 signings I had for my label . Both of these acts were friends I grew up with on Long Island . Unfortunately these never had a proper release and was shelved . After a million years later and some house cleaning I'm dusting these off for the public to hear . Also keep an eye out for random rare hip hop memorabilia I'm putting up for sale .
