Not even two years have passed since GHEIST first broke through. Fusing that rare narrative alchemy that sings across dancefloors universally, they continue to tap into the essence of house and techno with a precision sense of playfulness and poignancy… And turn heads on every occasion. 

This return to Sasha’s Last Night On Earth is no exception. ‘Nuan’ offers serious uplift, too. The pay-off from an enduring deep drive, everything is based around the striking, crystalline vocal textures that help turn the track into something you least expect… But only after you’ve worked for it.

The painting was somewhat distorted by the fragmented nature of his head from last summer. It had been a tough year but little by little he had been able to piece together what needed to be drawn from memory in order to begin his healing. It would always take for him to feel more like himself again but he had never particularly expected to find himself sat upon a beach painting out pictures of his problems from another life far away. This was supposed to be meditative rather than pensive, happy not sad. 

Benjamin Frohlich has invited some of his favourite producers to contribute to a remixes EP which features appearances from the likes of Chinaski and Aera. It is I:Cube however, who steals the show.

Sean's prolific activity in the studio has seen him release his innovative club cuts on labels like Ovum, Play It Say It and Knee Deep In Sound. He’s topped Beatport charts with offerings such as his magical remix of Nina Simone’s ‘Sinnerman’, played everywhere from Creamfields to Space to BPM and has 20 years experience in the game.

The superbly sunny and sax laced ‘Arc en Ciel’ opens up with a steady kick, tall claps, captivating percussion and uplifting chords. Modulated voices bleed into the mix to add even more atmosphere and authenticity, and the full-bodied bassline finishes things off in real style to ensure the party will go off.

ATLANT heads to the Balearics for ATL016 to bring you the expansive soundscapes of Kintar.

Deceptively named lead track ‘Sweet Depression’ has a subtle soothing groove, with intricate textures woven by atmospheric sitars and percussive crashes before Kintar releases a gentle flurry of swirling arpeggios. ’Sweet Depression’ definitely warrants repeat plays for you discover the hidden musical treasures within.

The mysterious ‘Galaxy IV’ takes our ATLANT vibe deep into the night with its driving bass groove enhanced through bellowing explosions of sound, wooden percussive flourishes and distant chants. Here Kintar plays with your mind as the dark focused breakdown gives a sense of anticipation and excitement, before the addictive arp line is re-introduced to bring the dance-floor together ... united in a sea of swaying arms, fingers reaching out to catch and caress a cascade of beautiful music notes that light up the air like a swarm of fire flies in a Maharashtra forrest.

Appearing on ’Kish Kash’, Basement Jaxx’s third studio album, the unforgettable single was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Dance Recordings category and also reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and number 2 on Hot Dance Club Play in the US. ‘Good Luck’ also featured as the opening theme of 2004 anime movie Appleseed, Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 2003 and 2005, and a version without lyrics was used for the opening sequence of BBC’s UEFA Euro 2004.

Real name Bülent Gürler, German producer Butch has been a formidable force within house and techno for over two decades, enchanting crowds from all across the globe with his technical performances. Highly regarded for producing compelling grooves, his releases have appeared on labels like Desolat, Cocoon, Rekids and Sei Es Drum, not to mention collaborating alongside Virginia, C. Vogt and Ricardo Villalobos (as Butric).

Receiving regular early support from Villalobos, Butch has provided three different renditions of ‘Good Luck’ and the ‘Remix’ is a rhythmic roller from the off, featuring numerous elements from the original whilst generating a cacophony of percussion as Kekaula’s iconic voice is chopped and looped – the result is high- octane and geared for the dancefloor. The ‘Dub’ strips things back, purely using segments of the vocal for instrumental purposes as a whirring bassline joins deep synths and mesmerising effects. Tying it all together, the ‘Drum Tool’ is a high-tempo percussive cut produced for peaktime DJ sets.

Sci+Tec’s resident producer Raul Facio is back at it again with his new release ‘Déjà vu’. The name says it: This three track release brings us that feeling of familiarity, yet remains a mysterious obstinacy with its revolving basslines to get lost in, alongside his reverent spikes that ground us into a deeper dimension of recollection. While the flagship track ‘Deja Vu’ is a dance classic in the making with its hypnotic lyrics and crowd moving drops, Raul takes us on a mesmerizing spiral with the commanding pulses of ‘Dropped’, complimented by the minimal warehouse aesthetic that inspired ‘Portrait’. ELEVATE - a label started by Pig&Dan, one of the most respected duos in the techno scene, focuses on releasing music to make the listener feel just that - 'elevated'. Since its inception in 2012, its seen a stream of hits climb the charts, featuring artists including Amelie Lens, Monika Kruse and Julian Jeweil. Not forgetting the smash hit No.1 techno track from new artist Aitor Ronda with 'Tweezer'.

It was in 2016 that Pig&Dan released their landmark 5th album 'Modular Baptism' and two years later, the first of two remix releases are to be released featuring up and coming ELEVATE label artists including Etai Tazari, M.I.T.A and Uakoz.

Etai Tazari delivers a pumping rework minimal original 'Now Or Never', with a bellowing low end and crisp percussion, whilst Italian producer M.I.T.A takes 'Modular Baptism' into a rougher, faster and linear techno cut, from its more mysterious original.

Uakoz returns to the imprint after his recent EP 'So What Now' back in February. The original of 'On The Way To Holland' with its instantly recognisable synth pattern taken from the original, accompanied by vox effects and a massive horn synth.

Phat and pulsating late night cuts on this selection of tracks from some promising future producers.
