'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is the sixth album from Endless Melancholy, a solo-project of Oleksiy Sakevych from Kyiv, Ukraine. It follows previous releases on labels such as Preserved Sound, 1631 Recordings and Hidden Vibes. 

Arriving on CD, digital and heavyweight vinyl editions, 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is a collection of soft piano melodies and transparent ambient textures, gently flowing one into another. On this album Endless Melancholy continues with the tape sound explorations, started on his previous album 'The Vacation', but in a new, more distinctive way. On this occasion, Oleksiy teamed up with Krzysztof Sujata (known for his musical outfit Valiska), who did some outstanding job on processing the tracks through different kinds of tape recorders and mastering them afterwards. Accompanied by a stunning artwork by an acclaimed artist Gregory Euclide, 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is meant to evoke hazy reminiscences from the deepest corners of listener's mind, like a blurry photograph suddenly falling out of an old book.

Outer Fire

Glåsbird's anonymous and imaginary travels to far flung locations continues, with this next excursion landing at the Norwegian fjords. The first two releases dealt with the more treacherous locations of Greenland and Svalbard but in Norskfjǫrðr, the dramatic and breathtaking landscape is underpinned by a road network which connects islands, peninsulas and mountains. A human thread of highway runs through this wild and rugged setting, passing lonely wood cabins and flashes of green.

To reflect this landscape, Glåsbird imagined a journey north to the edge of the Arctic sea over several days, stopping to capture the intimate acoustics of painted wooden shacks and drawing in the landscape through tiny window panes. Whilst the previous releases use reverb-heavy strings or tape-decaying piano to reflect the cold, stark expanse of snow, Norskfjǫrðr makes use of acoustic timbres with more emphasis on the raw sound. Various creaks and scrapes rustle underneath these melodies to reflect the sound from inside the cabin, micro-sound fragments being all the more audible due to the silent outdoors. A hint of folk is present at times in the form of bowed and plucked strings, to reflect the fauna and flora present across the West of Scandinavia. The familiar modern classical tones of piano and strings breathe a stark and chilling spine from time to time before the gently dramatic Endeligfjord marks the end of the journey, looking back out to the Barents sea.

Using these mixes to capture, my wave of experience.
Thank you to the medicine of the music, of the plants, and eachother. This is an ambient , space tripping , downtempo world music journey, including a few personal favourites and some newly collected world tunes. i hope you enjoy the selection.

Its been a while since the last mix. I have tried to make it several times since migrating overseas. Many genres wanted to be explored, and experimented with before I have settled on this piece. Alas something special was born to start the new year with. At the time of this recording, Im here in British Columbia and the winter stillness has beckoned me to enter this music space once again. The music here reflects my experience over the last few months, certain songs have impacted me in moments, and I wished to compile them all here for a 2 hour journey, replicating a recent journey we had with Huachuma the cactus here in the Rocky mountains, This experience ive tried to mirror here in this mix.

Suitable for creating art too or having as low level background music, or even in collaboration with some plant medicine one evening. Embrace the sacred with your presence whatever you do. And allow the music to take you to where you need to go.
