Kry Wolf 'DNA' coming 12 Jan 2015 on Food Music

‘DNA’ is a new series of v/a albums on Food Music, each presented by some of the worlds most exciting DJ and production talent.

The first in the series, crafted by Kry Wolf, is a journey through the musical flavours and vibes that inspire Lewis and Bill to do what they do. Presented both in a DJ mix and as individual tracks, we’re proud to present an album full of exclusive material put together the best way we know how, featuring New York Transit Authority, Shadow Child with Friend Within and Doorly, Bodhi, Aaron Snapes, Waifs and Strays and brand new material from Kry Wolf themselves, including ‘No Trouble’, and the now official update of Rave Classic ‘Sweet Harmony’, with full blessing from Liquid and XL Recordings.

The new up-and-comers on this album also offer us a fresh perspective on the future of House, amongst others Pluto, Vyhce, Tones, and in particular the long-awaited ‘Dysturbed Trumpet’ from Geoff K, provide a bright look into 2015 and beyond with the rest of the talent featured on Kry Wolf’s ‘DNA’.

Dog Orchestra – “Club Fragil”

Before there was Dog Orchestra, the electronic dream-pop collective, there was Dog Orchestra, the intriguing discovery. “We never wanted it to be about us. We wanted it to be about the band and the music as a separate entity,” says Daniel. “As much as I love being part of Dog Orchestra,” adds Niklas, “I want to enjoy it the same way an audience member might. No wall between the band and the listener—that’s the goal.”
With mutual interests in everything from indie rock to dance to hip hop, they joined a few pop bands, which ultimately imploded. Says Niklas, “It wasn’t until me and Daniel moved in together that I felt the music began to sound as good as it should.” The two alternated between laying down the musical groundwork and writing lyrics, a practice they continue today. “It was effortless,” Daniel continues. “We were inseparable after that, and I remember my sister telling me that my dad thought we were a couple.” 
Dog Orchestra started recording guest vocals for their EP in Stockholm, before relocating to Berlin. “It’s less restricted than Stockholm, where everything is clean and at a right angle—even the crooked ones are calculated,” says Daniel. Berlin’s grittier culture represented possibility. “It’s a city in shambles being rebuilt. The opportunities felt less policed. Like the whole city needs a good paint job, and no one is looking over your shoulder telling you how to paint it.” Their experience followed in kind.
Dog Orchestra’s “Club Fragil,” in particular, captures this sense of chill, of melancholy. “When I listen to songs like ‘Club Fragil,’ I vividly remember where we recorded them,” Daniel says, wistfully. “I remember the Neukölln apartment in disarray, trips home from Berghain in the taxi with Heroes by David Bowie playing on the radio and the snow sailing down slowly outside, eating €1.50 kebabs every day for two weeks straight until we could never touch one again. Each day, balancing between perfect hope and bellyaching anxiety. For me, it’s a feeling of achievement—that we managed to capture a particular moment in time, like a sonic photograph.”
