This is the very first (voice memo) recording of my original song Light One Up!

The best way to get strong and intense feelings out is to write about them, which is what being completely distraught and heartbroken forced me to do. These songs still make me tear up from time to time when I sing them, but they really encapsulate an entire time period of my life. Regardless, I can see such visible healing in myself because these songs are merely reflective at this point.

About the music:
"A Song for Trees" is a conceptual album, an anthropomorphic project in which we tell human stories through our relationship with trees. In most of our songs, a specific tree (sometimes in our yard!) is the main character and inspiration. Our music is made of poetic lyrics, layered vocal harmonies with piano at the heart, and a calming indie vibe

About us: 
Amy Vanacore, a professional pianist and piano teacher from New York, and Clara Grun, a bilingual singer-songwriter from Nicaragua, met in Portland, Oregon, eight years ago and started writing songs collaboratively in July of last year. We were awarded grants from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) and Milagro Theatre to record these songs at Portland's legendary Falcon Recording Studios this year, and we are thrilled to share our original music with you now!

Talking with Oleta Adams

Dria Thornton (born Diondria Thomas) is a platinum R&B composer and vocalist born in Houston, TX and raised in Fullerton, CA. She has worked with Logic, Ray J, Lecrae and DJ Monn as a featured artist. She contributed her vocals to the 2018 Grammy Nominated, 5x Platinum Hit “1-800” by Logic, Alessia Cara and Khalid. In 2014, Her debut song with Ray J “ATM” ft Dria and The Migos was featured on  VH1’s “Love and Hip Hop Hollywood” and received positive reviews from Hot New Hip Hop, MTV and Singersroom. Dria performed in 2016 with Logic in promotion of his “Under Pressure” album on Jimmy Kimmel Live 

As a composer, Dria has been awarded 1 platinum and 3 gold RIAA certified records for her composition on Logic’s "Under Pressure", "The Incredible True Story" and "Everybody" albums. In 2016, she was nominated for a Dove Award for "Best Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year" for her composition on Lecrae’s "Can't Do You". Dria was also featured as an artist on the promotional song "Iluminate" for rapper Lecrae's book "Unashamed”. 

As an AFTRA vocalist, Dria’s vocals have also been featured on Rick Ross “Money Dance” and “Lamborghini Doors”, Meek Mill’s “Shine” and Young Thug’s “Wyclef Jean”. 

Aside from her domestic success, Dria has also been a featured artist on quite a few electronic/dance records in the UK including the most recent John Waite inspired “Not Missin u” with Armada signed DJ Monn. 

Dria is currently working on her own music and continues to work as a professional composer and vocalist.
