This my new single ‘Why?’ feat. Spoonface. It blends 808 Bass music with dubbed out funkadelica, creating a sweet melodic but full frequency jam that reaches for the heart as well as the feet. It features the haunting vocals of my good mate MC Spoonface from the UK, full of longing and loss. ‘Why’ contemplates the inexplicable nature of humankind and why we do what we do to each other, a theme more explicitly rendered in the hard hitting artwork which was a collab with the awesome Tryga Design. I was in 2 minds as to whether to go down this route but I believe the dialogue it will generate is more important than any confusion or controversy that might come about because of it. 

The person in the picture is a real person with a family just like you and me and some how ended up being tortured by non military members of hired private armies fighting 'on behalf' of the the American people. No trial, no due process of law. And for what? For who? Why?

Stick Figure is the project of Santa Cruz, California-based producer Scott Woodruff. Lumped into a genre dominated by Reggae-Rock bands, Woodruff earned worldwide acclaim by incorporating lower tempo chillout music with elements of Jamaican dub and reggae.

Noted through his restrained vocals, multi-layered arrangements, and heavy riddims, Woodruff independently released four albums between 2006 – 2010 including The Sound Of My Addiction (2006), Burnin’ Ocean (2008), Smoke Stack (2009), and The Reprise Sessions (2010), each winning numerous year end awards and praise from the scene’s most influential blogs and tastemakers. Despite combined album sales topping 50,000, Woodruff veered away from touring in support of the recordings and settled into a reclusive lifestyle- traveling the world for over half a decade and living on the album royalties.

The release of 2012’s Burial Ground invoked a sea change in the producer, who began to embrace the demand to play live shows, establishing a touring band made up of Kevin Bong (KBong) on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums, and bassist Tommy Suliman, fronted by Woodruff on guitar and lead vocals. The quartet headlined their first national tour in 2014, and on the back of multiple advance sell out shows, Stick Figure reached bona fide headliner status throughout North America and the Pacific Islands.

In 2014, Woodruff moved to a mountainside farm outside Santa Cruz, CA. As his housemates experimented in beekeeping and tincture making Woodruff found solace excavating a foundation and constructing a recording studio on the farm, all in preparation for his most ambitious recording to date, Set In Stone (to be released November 13, 2015).

The release of Set In Stone is a culmination of a journey that has seen the producer go from a mysterious figure to becoming a major player and virtually inventing a melodic subgenre of reggae that finds inspiration from midtempo electronic music.

This series is made not for the raging dance floor but for chilling with friends, starting off an epic day, or just on a really dope sound system or headphones. These mixes are comprised of current tracks I have gathered and also some classic tracks from the last couple decades. All of the tracks I believe in completely. I like the challenge of mixing different genres and styles into a complete 90 minute aural pleasure field. I love playing live and throwing down funky dance music but I also love these deep grooves. I put a lot of thought, time, and emotion into gathering these tracks, figuring out how to put them together, and mixing them into the final mix. It is a creative and sometimes difficult process but it is so rewarding to complete it and post for others to enjoy. This mix is truly a window into me and into a sampling of the tracks I love. “Ladies of The Canyon” is a new set inspired by the Joni Mitchell songbook in which I will propose on a trimestral basis this soundtrack full of Westcoast and Soul music (you can also call it Yacht Soul as they said ), for the Pacific Summer Sound website members.
In this 1st set, the mood is clearly "laidback and relax".
I have selected a blend of both rare, or lesser known, and also some classic tracks, that I have carefully beatmatched. 
As some of them are old Vinyls, initially recorded at a time the beat was frequently fluctuating, the mixing for those could have been hot to manage; but at the end you get a live set with track versions that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

J’ai sélectionné un mélange de morceaux à la fois rares, ou moins connus, et aussi quelques classiques que j’ai soigneusement mixés sur le tempo. 
Étant donné que certains sont des vieux Vinyls, initialement enregistrés à une période où le tempo n’était pas stable, le mixage a été compliqué à gérer, mais au bout du compte vous avez un set Live avec des versions que vous ne pourrez retrouver nulle part ailleurs.
