This is a shared-sample project. Create a single new piece of music by employing the selected material (see below) of each the following three tracks. All three were initially released on the new netlabel deriv.cc, and were posted to the Internet with a Creative Commons license encouraging derivative reworking. In fact, the impetus for the label, which was founded by C. Reider, was to draw attention to the intrinsic benefits of allowing for derivative works. Like deriv.cc, this project — one in an ongoing series of netlabel remixes undertaken by the Disquiet Junto — is intended to address the unfortunate popularity of “ND” (i.e., “no derivatives”) licenses among netlabels. Please only use the following material in your piece; you can transform in any way you choose, but do not introduce any new source material.

Composer, saxophonist and producer Jason Turner brings electroacoustic, musique concrète, noise, glitch and algorithmic composition together with sounds from his former life as a jazz musician.

Working in mixed media...fieldrecordings, analog soundgenerators homemade "tossekasser" creating soundscapes, a,bi & non tonal pieces with or without instruments. Graduated with a degree in (electric) guitar from the Carl Nielsen Institute in Odense, Denmark in 2000.

An mini-album (Gauze) was released in 2009 through the Fwonk net label (http://fwonk.com/releases/fw023/) which included material from a number of sessions pieced together into a series of tracks incorporating drifting washes of noise and haunting melodies. A single, Droplets (http://fwonk.co.uk/154/), was released in late 2014 through Fwonk, while I am a long-standing contributor to both the Disquiet Junto and Fwonk compilation series.
