Balearic Acid Train Mixtape - Ibiza Dec 22

Kenneth Bager was invited to the cinema by
his dear friend, the movie enthusiast Peder 
Pedersen. They watched the classic ‘The Thief’ 
by Michael Mann starring James Caan in the
 lead role. The soundtrack was made by the 
legendary German electronica band 
Tangerine Dream. The music was pumping and
 made an immense impression on Kenneth.

A few days later Kenneth had a visitor, Tolga
 Böyük from the Turkish band islandman. The 
two watched William Friedkin’s ‘Sorcerer’
once again Tangerine Dream delivered the
 soundtrack.

Post watching the movie Kenneth and Tolga 
felt the inspiration to do the soundtrack for a
 non-existing. They started out composing five
 tracks before going to bed.

The next day, still excited about yesterday’s 
movie, the two came up with the album title 
‘East of North’ (Tolga being from the east and 
Kenneth from the north). Together they kept
 up the good work and manage to produce 10 
tracks within 24 hours.

They imagined that the music told a story
 about two people on the ice sheet. One of
 them treasonously tries to fool the other.

The album cover picture was captured on a 
windy day near a beach in Hellerup, Denmark.
The music is a tribute to some of history’s most
 significant electronic film composers: Vangelis,
 John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream.

We are delighted to have the lovely George Actv on our podcast. A real music lover who plays vinyl and his music selection is absolutely on point. Former resident of the infamous D-Edge club in Sao Palo who now resides in Lausanne and we have had the honor of him playing at one of our afterworks earlier this year. This mix is a top quality vinyl only set! 

Some info from George Actv: 

In Sao Paulo he started performing professionally in 1997, where he was resident DJ D-edge, every Saturday/Sunday after hour. He played practically in all the clubs, underground parties and festivals in Sao Paulo, Hell’s Club, Skoll Beats, TIM festival, etc…. in other states of Brazil and South America too. He also produced his own evenings, such as Sunday Away, every Sunday from 12 p.m. to midnight. During this time, Actv has performed alongside many famous DJs from the global electronic scene such as Jeff Mills, Ricardo Villalobos, AUX 88, UR, Richie Hawtin, Chemical Brothers, SLAM, Aubrey, Mark Ambrose, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Colin Dale, Anthony Rother, Nicolas Lutz, Stacey Pullen, Kenny Larkin, Thomas Melchior, Sven Vath, Magda, Luke Slater, etc.

As a music producer, he participated in CD compilations distributed at FNAC and Intergroove, for example.

Hi, I'm Alland and I like making and collecting music. I was born and raised in LA, moved to SF in 2003 where my friends and I hosted a big, fancy, well-known techno party at a legendary club called The Endup.

After seven wild years in the Bay I moved to Berlin and some fun stuff happened. Got an album out on Third Ear Recordings, some singles and EPs on Room With A View, Dirt Crew, Poker Flat, Rawax, Housewax and some other nice labels. Had a couple residencies in clubs and radio stations. A couple of my best mates and I started a band project called KAMM, and together we released two albums. The first came out on Marcel Vogel's fine Intimate Friends label, and the sophomore LP on France's legendary Circus Company. See? Fun stuff happened!

These days I spend most of my time in my nice little home studio, I'm the Art Director at Beatport, have my own indie label called Full Bleed Sound, I buy synths I can't afford and I'd most likely like to pet your dog.
