Tommy Vicari Jnr is next up for our newest podcast. Residing in the UK, Tommy has been on fire with recent releases on Slapfunk, OGE, and Politics of Dancing.  His discography also includes releases on classic label like Robsoul and Cabinet Records. His sound is truly unique shifting between swingy house to experimental twisted  dubbed out funk grooves. This mix showcases his knowledge of music and the dedication to his craft.

Our guest number six is Costa, a Capricho friend, a very important element and natural talent of the Honne Music colective. Representing the groove of northern Mexico, based in Tijuana. Costa gives us his emotions in the form of music. For those who can't locate him, he was one of the highlights at our rave in the mountains last year: Once: Once. Enjoy

WHIMCAST 06 - COSTA

The fifteenth mix in the series comes in via the form of a live recording from the legend that is, Lee Renacre aka 100Hz.

Originally formed of three members and now ran by Lee, 100Hz is a prolific electronic recording artist who’s been producing the funkier side of house and techno since 1989. Known for his sultry, stripped down grooves paired with sinister vocals and odd beat patterns, he has carved a truly unique style of electronic music blurring the lines between house, techno and jazz. An iconic track, 'Whisper' is however anything but sinister - full of hope, the track meanders through introspective thoughts on love and positivity. 

Early releases on Optimism as well as his own Format label laid the foundations for a back catalogue of highly sought after records including EPs on Oblong and Pacific in the mid 90s right up to the current day with releases on the minimal labels, Amphia and Curtea Veche. 

100Hz was recognised by Mixmag in 1997 as one of the pioneering UK producers of the time, helping to create a new genre of dance music. His sound pioneered the slightly obscure UK Tech House sound of the 90s which has come into serious demand in recent years. 100Hz's sound is simply integral in the sound of UK underground dance music. 

The live mix was recorded recently in his South London studio.

Next aboard the Serenity Mix Series is 'OOZ' founder 'Laurence'. This 2 hour journey cast us straight back to that Neotropiq NYD party which lay just south of the river - where we heard him play track for track with SER006 contributor 'Trixie'. That morning really was one for the books... and this mix more than pays testament to that - with it's effortless weaving through melodic house records, deeply rooted UK-inspired breaks and deeper cuts reminiscent of that late 90s Chicago sound. 
This one's a proper adventure... Sit back, and enjoy the ride x
