xato is a Vienna-based Greek artist, producer, audio engineer and label owner whose heavy-hitting sound has carved space across both electronic and rap spheres worldwide. A shape-shifter in studio and on stage, xato’s approach to sound design thrives on impact and adaptability, building sonic worlds that merge brute force with intricate detail.

This year, xato delivered a 5-track collaboration EP with 645AR on vocals, as well as a release featuring production from 0neo, Brodinski, umru, BASECK, DJ LOSER, Ludwig Wandinger, and BloodzBoi’s side project yy02, issued through his own imprint xyx. Alongside this, he released another collaborative EP with Japan’s BBBBBBB, in which xato’s distorted, abstract soundscapes collide with BBBBBBB’s screams and human textures, also featuring appearances from 645AR and DJ LOSER. In tandem with his production, xato’s DJ and live sets stand as unique one-off experiences, equally rooted in improvisation and precision which delivers the same cathartic release which can be found in his productions.

For this mix, xato channels harsh and frenetic club music into thirty minutes of industrial-experimental euphoria, drawing from artists and sounds that have been inspiring his recent work.
