Hi, my name is Anton Sandholt (He/Him), I live in Copenhagen, have been here for 6 years now.

Fun fact... I have never smoked anything in my life.

How did you get your DJ name? 

I was in Amsterdam with my girlfriend at the time and had just been booked for my first gig in Copenhagen. I had to give them a DJ name and we somehow ended up with fruit as we thought it fit my music style at that time.

Who/what currently inspires your music-wise that has nothing to do with music?

Tv and movies inspire my music taste a lot. I just realized recently that my most listened to songs and tracks where all from something i had watched lately.

Favorite sound of nature? Describe how it makes you feel.

Earlier this year I visited my sister and her bf at their farm in Iceland. I had the great experience of walking into a sheep-pen and hearing 150 sheep scream at the same time, it made me laugh.

Dream line-up?

Ok lets say we have a 500 person basement venue. No restrictions, a high budget but not unlimited. 8 hour timeframe. These are the artists i would book.

If you had to describe yourself as a fruit ;), what kind would you be and why?

I took a buzzfeed quiz to figure this out and i got raspberry. it said “raspberries are delicious but so dang delicate". I think that sums it up.

What is your favorite time of day?

Midnight during summer since the sun goes down really late here. In the winter it's the morning sunrise. 

Advice for being productive with music?

I do this thing of uploading every demo arrangement I make onto Soundcloud privately. So I have a nice archive of music on my private sc. i make a lot of demos so it helps me remember what i have made and gives me momentum to finish them.

What is your most recent favorite DJ mix and why?

My friend Vinnie just started DJing recently and I think she already has a really nice sound and is really good at making an interesting and diverse palette.

What was your first gig? How did it go? 

My first public DJ gig was a "beer night" for my school when I was a teenager. I played disco and 90s house there for about 5 hours. there wasn't much of a dance floor but there were a lot of requests for Beyonce, a few people had a really hard time understanding why I would not accept these requests. when I stopped playing, one of those people literally yelled "WORST DJ EVEEEEER".

Do you have any upcoming releases/gigs?

I have a new ep out this friday! it's called "gilgamesh" and it’s released on øen records. it's 2 tracks i made during the first lockdown while I was obsessing over the epic of gilgamesh. I gave myself a long time to finish this music so i'm really happy to see it out in the world now. we are doing a release party at øen this saturday, (with full capacity:o) hope to see you if you are in Copenhagen.

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

Now during covid I have experienced more cohesion than ever in my local dance community. That's something i've really appreciated and would like to see continue. Then I also think we need some more diversity in line-ups and management positions :-)

Second in our series we have @ensuree on board of our flying cauldron. The Copenhagen based newcomer became one of our favorite selectors when it's about slow to mid tempo Trance experiences and such a talented DJ and musician, the name speaks for itself. This is by far the quickest mix she ever recorded. Coming from a classical music background in form of flute studies and singing, music was always an important part of her life. Over Deep Techno like Dozzy, northern electronics and Postpunk she made her way to digging in the crates for old Goa records and slowing them down like Grand Mage Professor Vladimir revealed to us. Besides her creative expression she studied biochemistry, ergo modern witchcraft. You'll hear more from her in the near future, we ensure you.

Keeping up the trancey vibes, we're diving into a gentle and blissful atmosphere, where we meet Popmix, Copenhagen based DJ & Producer and member of the infamous Axces Recordings. Having encountered Frits a few weeks back in CPH at Ved Siden Af, we loved to see how his tunes just made people smile and dance off.

With a sharp eye for digging and an ever growing catalogue of contemporary productions, al dente cements himself as a significant contributor to the prosperous Naarm/Melbourne scene. 

We have been long time admirers of the curation of the https://soundcloud.com/neurocrankk mix series which al dente is 1/3 of. Here the trio have invited numerous outstanding artists to produce some of their best work, enabling the series to demand anticipation for every new mix.
 He also works alongside https://soundcloud.com/billy-howard-392748182 in their https://soundcloud.com/neb-u-la project. This collaboration has compiled their mutual appreciation for prog trance, tech house, minimal and much more. As a result, pushing the capabilities of club experiences and reinvigorated forgotten tracks.

With his individual work, al dente engages with his favourite projects and labels to produce an authentic representation of his forever developing sonic journey. 
The mix also incorporates some recent productions of his own, of which are expected to be released later this year and within the next. 

We are really lucky to share this work!
