The most post-rocked sound I've ever made! Please take 5 minutes, sit back and relax. This alternative song has been made out of many ideas: some spacey, astronaut lyrics; a reverbed and delayed guitarsolo; slow drums and mysterious sounds...

I found my inspiration for this song in some different stages over the past weeks and with the help of AllesKand*r, drummer of my ex-band. By adding some details one by one, we created this bizarre sounding song. Give it at least one full play to discover the overall meaning; it's up to you to decide that meaning =)

Catching the Imaginary

Benjamin Zeta is back! 

The first new song of 2017 is called 'Breath' and marks the beginning of a new sound and musical direction. Where my first two EP's A and Z (still not released) contain alternative electronic and acoustic music respectively, 'Breath' combines these elements into Benjamin Zeta's own style.

I've been inspired by the Bristol triphop-scene for this song, with main influences like Massive Attack and Portishead, but also by my previous songs which can be found here on Soundcloud:

Breath

Sergio Bondietti - Proton Pump

This version has some imperfections; the biggest one is the bassline not being synced with the rest of the band at the first chorus (luckily the intro is tight though; I'm glad because a good start is half the work), but later on it gets synced again. I think we could have easily redone that bass part, but with the time we had we didn't notice it; once I noticed it we couldn't change it anymore. This is a starting rockband though, we are only human; and maybe it adds something artistic you could say. Imperfection can be ok, better next time! It's part of the process. The rest of this song is perfect if you ask me haha. :p

The first 'home studio' demo from Under Construction, the (former) 4-piece band from Delft, The Netherlands! We recorded this with an external soundcard, ableton, our own instruments and our own gear, some of which kind of sucked. 

We produced it ourselves (for a great part) and credits to Jeremy van Haastert for doing some of the mastering. I mastered it with the soundcloud Dolby master function afterwards though.

It features Electronic Drums/superior drummer and sometimes it sounds more 'static' than it's supposed to because it's not an acoustic kit.. But its ok.

When UC made this demo in 2015 I thought the ending was missing something, therefore I came up with a solo on a keyboard. Lesson learned; a drummer should never try something melodic; the band split up soon afterwards.. xD No just kidding, the split up was in 2017 for different reasons. But unfortunately the other band-members didn't want the solo for the live/band version because we couldn't reproduce it in a live setting. Fair enough, I like it better with that solo so I kept it in this enhanced version.
