In the endless sea of producers and selectors, only a few leave a lasting impression. They are the niche artists, individuals that push sonic boundaries into new territory with skill, and purpose. Over the last 5 years Silat Beksi has made quite the impression on minimal music lovers across the globe by doing just that. Utilising his own unique combination of rhythms & special imprinted textures to craft emotive and energetically charged pieces of music. 

This was recognized early on with labels like Romaniaís Tzinah Records, Moscowís Body Parts and Ukranian imprint Mulen Records offering him a platform through which to release and refine his musical style. In 2014 this culminated in the release of Silat's first full length album, with ten wondrously diverse minimalist cuts seeing a digital release on Mulen. Having achieved this milestone, the talented producer dedicated himself to the perfection of his craft with a renewed determination, going vinyl only and launching his own imprint Modeight Records in 2016. Itís a label family that boasts some of the hottest new talent in minimal house and techno, giving rise to producers such as Germanyís Durrrred & Romanian young guns Dragutesku and RQZ. Their intuitive and forward thinking approach to minimalist music is creating sonic ripples throughout the global underground scene, challenging the existing boundaries of the genre once again.  

Fast forward to the present and Silat Beksi has amassed an enviable body of 12î releases on his journey so far. Cementing himself as one of the most inform talents in Europes underground scene with releases on labels like Germanyís almighty Pleasure Zone, Welsh imprint Dreams Are Not Inside, What You Want, Vivus Records and of course his own imprint Modeight. His sound continues to morph and develop, defying classification with it's heady combination of techno ís rhythmic sensibility, breakbeat influence and warm atmospheric textures that hypnotise and excite.

We are thrilled to welcome back, after more than 5 years since their last podcast, to the Bucuresti minimal giants of Livio & Roby. Deep in the Romanian wilderness, beyond the foggy wastelands and the drab greyness of the metropolitan district, you can find the base of two musical wizards who invoke the spirit of the past to transmit a very modern interpretation of their nation's musical traditions.

AllexPhills, a visionary DJ and producer, has been instrumental in introducing the #RoMinimal sound to Romania’s Jiu Valley. His musical journey began in high school, where he transformed a passion into a celebrated career. What once was fun became a way of life in college, leading to a residency as a DJ at student party nights. He delved into computer-based audio and video remixing, and after working in a professional music studio in Philadelphia, he eagerly embraced the club scene. Over time, he gained experience performing in various clubs and private parties. He has been a resident DJ in many clubs and has mixed alongside renowned DJs such as Raoul Rusu, Marco Briguglia, Vali Bărbulescu, Vania, JoE, Margo, B Noise (Barac), BRYZ, Tiberiu (DinSubsol), Dobrică, Alex Atari, DJ Rini (IT), Adrian Eftimie, and many others from his native country. A notable period in his career was hosting a radio show that reached 44 editions, featuring guest DJ friends who created a charming atmosphere during four-hour live sets every Friday night. In late 2018, AllexPhills, along with an amazing and dedicated group of young people, founded THE ROOM, marking the birth of a new wave of Rominimal sound in Jiu Valley.
