Sometimes, you have a sparking idea, a thought which takes
shape within seconds. This is exactly what happened when I
received a demo by Patlac in spring 2017. The year before, we
had signed the lovely „Random Walks“ for our summer
compilation „BBQ Techno 6“, so we were already in touch,
but what we received from him this time was different,
advanced and something we could not resist. A selection of
titles, all of them as though they had been made to stay
together and a blueprint for our Livingroom Techno sound
idea. It was clear for me right from the start, that the next
Livingroom Techno would not be a compilation, but an album,
our first Livingroom Techno album.

Over the past months, we have refned the idea and more
titles were added to get what we have today: „Blinded“ -
probably the most homogenous album we have ever released.
„Blinded“ is a love letter, describing the feeling of Patlac’s
hometown, the city of Hamburg, or better said the metro line
U3, Hamburg’s oldest city line and the train which takes Patlac
to his studio every day. The ringline with a gap, which goes
overground most of the time and passes impressive scenarios
including the Landungsbrücken, Elbphilharmonie or the green
area of Winterhude had a huge infuence on the tracks and
set the mood Patlac wanted to create with this album.

On the way to his studio and back, Patlac listened to the
resulting tracks and loops via his phone over and over again. It
was his musical companion while looking out the window,
watching the city go by, analysing the changing light situation
from winter to summer, from day to night, cut off only by the
blinding refections of the passing silver metallic trains or the
city lights, forcing him to gently close his eyes, creating an
almost meditative moment. All of this melted together to
become „Blinded“ - a journey, discovering deep and
sophisticated corners between the poles of house, techno and
electro. Music to dance to or simply to listen to, it is relaxed
and moving at the same time. A true Livingroom Techno
release…

Hamburg-based photographer Katja Ruge sets the mood with
her contributed beautiful artwork photo, showing her blurred
and colourful interpretation of „Blinded“.

We are extremely happy to welcome our house friend, Edgar Peng! 
You might recognise him through some of his various projects like Turmspringer, RAS or Robert Galic. As part of the Berlin underground scene for the past 2 decades, people can clearly see his afro house, hip hop and nu-jazz influence on this great ep: You.

YOU is the 1st cut of the ep. The track has a hypnotic feel all around with clear stabs and chords that follow an endless conversation between each other, round fx, and a sharp hi hat. Later the ride uplifts the entire meaning of the song. The fat sub bass glues it all together in a marvelous way.
This can easily fit into a classic Berlin after hours making it memorable & epic.

On the other hand, LOS CABRA delivers an extremely interesting remix from YOU. This Argentinian duo (formed by Christ Burstein and Manuel Sahagun) received international attention after their releases on the BAR 25, RKJVK, and GOLDEN GATE. They imprint their afro vibe, a playful bass strung together with different textures. Some Moog sounds & percussion creates an incredible atmosphere offering an almost offbeat groove. It also offers spaced out vocal cuts that give this number a unique sound.


Last but not least, NYX! This is the moment that you should open the old cognac, put on that old red silk coat, and start enjoying. Every sound is where it should be: a soft pad, gentle cowbell, and pitched strings. This long stab shows the way to this intrepid track. The retro vibe is everywhere! NYX is one of those fine deep tracks that is rare to find. The percussion on top is light and kept under control.

Plug on your earphones, shake some fresh house beats with electro clashes and add some reduced techno flavours: Eh Voila, Moosfiebr knows how to make that recipe taste minimal.

With his name established amongst electronic aficionados, Joseph Disco has gone on to entrench himself on the scene as a steadfast proliferator of high-quality works. Sporting an ever-growing cadre of solo releases and remix work on a multitude of labels, Joseph has only given a tantalizing taste of his true potential. Jens Lewandowski plays at the big German cities, is a regular and well known guest in clubs like Tresor, Suicide Circus or Sisyphos in Berlin.

Releases like Do Not Stand, Panopal, Back Again or Funny Face made fellow musicians sit up. Finally, in 2015, he scored a coup when he and Alfred Heinrichs released the „Super EP“ (2015 Supdub Records), which rated highly in the Beatport charts for weeks. Further releases came on Creepy Finger Records, Phobos Records, plunk! and Treibjagd Records.

And here we are, coming big time with our "Summer Slices 2018" compilation album on Hive Audio, a massive fourteen track menu that's not only all about a hot summer mood for a reason but also an ideal showcase to introduce both brand new musical outings from the inner circle family as well as heaps of new, raw and undiscovered talent we've come across over the past twelve months.

Starting out with Matija vs Richard Elcox and their tune "Long Ago" we're taken on a trip into a detailed, yet stripped down but lively deep TechHouse universe surely employing some tribalistic vibes alongside a distinct, shuffling low end line and a well-phonky twist whereas Juzz' "Orbital" provides more of a bouncy approach based on playful bass movements an a jazzy atmosphere vibewise.

Following up is "We Are One", a track crafted by Murciano & Nakai who're deeply influenced by the Chicago trackstyle in terms of their drum foundation but provide more of an anthemic and highly atmospheric vocal approach for late night floors whilst electronic music staple David Aurel serves a "Lady Cocktail" that's well on fire with its uncompromising House beat and killer groove before Miravan's "The Music Continues" redefines a masterly shaped combination of spatial, spaced out TechHouse and seductive sexyness for this season and Anthik's "Contenance" weighs in more proper Tech vibes, a jackin' attitude, intricate melodies and a gnarly massive bass ride for peak time ecstasy.

Our friends of Smalltown Collective bring forth their tune "Kalahri" which is vibing on a pumping, yet well melodic level introducing a beautiful piano motif to the dancefloor crowd, Vanita's "Ubuntu" explores darker, sci-fi Tech territories incorporating haunting atmospheres, metallic percussion elements and a panoramic synth motif on the rise accompanied by naturalistic chants whereas SOAME's "Gracia" is fueled with well technoid, yet playful fascination for a modernistic take on HypnoTech and Marco Bertro's "Mindfluid" turns out to be a damp, sexy tool for all modern, signal loving jocks out there.

Furthermore we see Moosfiebr's "Clowns In My Soul" dance around to a clap-heavy, intricate take on stripped down House music sporting a unique, lively, deep ass bounce and beautiful string layers, "FreeFall" by Manon feat. Gitali caters a seductive slow-motion groove, magical bass drops and quite a portion of fascinating vocal mysticism whilst Meikel's contribution named "Air" is based on a hormone driven groove, tripping hoover mutations and echoes of Munich disco for the late night crowd before Normen Hood rounds things off with "Karat", indulging in crystalline NeoTrance meets TechHouse structures to be preferrably played out under the bright stars of the milky way.
