Maison D’etre’s moody masters have been at it again. Long-time friends, Gel Abril and Anthony Middleton have combined forces to produce more than a collaborative EP. ‘All in the Mind’ is a dexterous fusion melding what could be considered contrasting styles into balanced compliment. ‘All in the Mind’ is murky, provocative, groovy- all that is that is Maison D. Contrast and compliment, space and balance, much like a friendship this two-track EP shows off the strength of dynamic collaboration, honouring differences and never conformity.

‘All in the Mind,’ showcases both producers’ unique craft; fusing Gel Abril’s signature techno sound with Anthony Middleton’s melodic and spacious arrangements. Thought provoking vocals stretched out across a landscape of rhythmic pads. A tribal space voyage, both stirring and calming, complex yet simple- experiential and unreal all in perfect contradiction. Dark and hypnotic with a techno pad breakdown this beat-rider evokes imagination...It is, after all, ‘All in the Mind’.

‘Hey You’ is a classic track reinvented with some contemporary techno flare. Classic vocals, airy and distant, are laid over super modern tech and synth sounds in a digital Ping-Pong style. This track is all about rhythmic drive with old-school baseline, a combination that is bound to keep the feet dancing well past 4am.

The international trio, a collaborative project of Greco-German couple Local Suicide (@localsuicide) and Bavarian producer Kalipo (@kalipo-1), are set to return with a bundle of 16 remixes of their critically-acclaimed album ‘Rimini’ on April 28th, 2023. It ranges from EBM, New Wave, Italo Disco, Electro & Indie Dance to House & Techno and features stunning reworks by Alexander Robotnick, Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi, Theus Mago, Oberst & Buchner, Schlepp Geist, Fabrizio Mammarella, Italo Brutalo, Radio Gaze, Carolain Luf, Mufti, Back From The Wave & T.M.A.

The legendary electro pioneer and producer of the 80’s cult hit ‘Problèmes d’Amour’ Alexander Robotnick then brings a stripped-down, subtly retro remix of ‘Amore’, with metallic echoes and a smooth bassline that perfectly underscore the sensual lyrics. 

The artists met at a rave in 2013 and have been pushing boundaries ever since with their unique blend of new wave, late 90’s electro, and elements of 80’s disco. This new release comes after a busy year for the ever-prolific trio, following the release of their globally acclaimed debut album ‘Rimini’ which promptly sold out and received rave reviews for its effortless and refreshing blend of Italo, New Wave, Punk and Electroclash influences. This is my first recorded ambient set, played live at the intimate, cozy, safe space of Koala Karnival. Thank you Elle for the invitation and to everyone in attendance for the space to express myself through soundscapes and vibrations. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity. ❤️

This set is a collection of some of the most important pieces of music to me, discovered over the years and crafted into a coherent order over several weeks. My intention in opening this edition of Koala Karnival was to allow attendees to ground through organic and natural sounds, feel through some deeper tones, and travel through some of the spacier explorations. Some of the artists featured here are East Forest, Akal Dub, Nala Sinephro, Nuages, Kora, Warmth, the powerful words of Ram Das, and others who have inspired me in my musical discovery and curation. Many of these songs have been played in my yoga classes for years, so it felt right to play them in my first ambient set. 

Unwind, relax, take a deep breath, and let go. I hope you enjoy listening to this set just as much as I enjoyed playing it.

Red mountains like alien landscapes. Desert plateaus where the air is thin and the sky feels closer than the ground. Altai Mars is the place where nature ceases to be earthly.
Here, the sand glows with a rust-colored light, the stones look like fossilized comets, and the silence feels like interplanetary space. Standing at the summit, you no longer see Siberia — you see another planet. Altai becomes a mirror of Mars — a place of color, stillness, and immense power. Everything here sounds like the breath of the cosmos, like the vibration of distant worlds.

Vol. 11 Mountain Altai VA is dedicated to that feeling — the boundary between the terrestrial and the extraterrestrial — where nine tracks become transmissions from the Red Planet of Altai.

This part of the collection — created to celebrate the third anniversary of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] — is devoted to altitude and silence, to the state where a human being feels like a fragment of the cosmos. Altai Mars is Altai as seen from orbit — red dust, cold light, eternal stillness. Here, music doesn’t play — it hovers, sending pulses through the void. This is not merely a release. It is a message — from Altai, into infinity.
