With Soma, @eleaal present a seamless, deeply reflective EP that explores the intimate relationship between sound and silence. Born from the opening track of the same name, Soma became the catalyst for the creative journey that followed. At its core lies a central question posed through layered samples: “What is sound?”
Rather than treating sound and silence as opposing forces, the EP examines how they coexist—how silence can be found within sound itself. This theme runs like a red thread through the uninterrupted progression of tracks, forming a cohesive sonic narrative.
Referencing timeless explorations like Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” and John Cage’s groundbreaking work with silence, Ele & Aal offer their own interpretation—less concerned with stillness, and more with silence as an experience embedded in sound.
More introspective and atmospheric than their previous releases, Soma is a free-form, artistic reflection—an immersive listening experience that invites contemplation, and gently challenges conventional boundaries in electronic music.
