Placid aka Paul Wise is chief in command at ‘We’re Going Deep’ – an online community and record label, born out of a lifelong affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and obsession for collecting records since 1988. He’s spent the last 3 decades moving heads and feet at select venues, parties and fields across the UK and beyond.

On a mission to share and release new music via his label, you’ll only find the best selections in Acid, Electro, IDM, Techno and Deep House for the dance floor, front room or your headphones making the cut. For the next (and penultimate) edition of his various artist series, he turns to the talents of 4 superlative UK based producers. All of whom make equally excellent contributions to this latest missive.

Synonymous with the legendary Smallfish imprint, Bristol based artist Remote_ opens with ‘Ionic Shuffle’ - a fresh slice of 4/4 machine-funk swing. Invoking the motorcity spirit through a tightly programmed mix of Roland drum machines and crisp evolving lead, a hefty 303 bassline burrows it’s way to lead us to the outer limits. Following on with the graceful ‘Acid 13’, a delicate space aged cut from relative newcomer Steven Simpson. Airy stabs and star-shot sonics interweave to perfection as sawtooth waves find their place amongst the dubbed out ether.

Mancunian maestro J.S.Zeiter returns on the flips with the foreboding ‘Entropy’, a dense acidic chugger that revels in cyclical note action and a simple kick. Fusing minimal elements for maximal output, you can only marvel at the outcome. Rounding off with the eerie electroid infusion of ‘Flight to Mars’ from Suddi Raval, off-kilter synths hang in the air and deep bass shakes the foundations.

Since first emerging from Melbourne's smoke-machine laden dance floors of the late '00s, Mike Gamwell's penchant for forward-thinking electronica paired with meticulous production has entrenched him in the consciousness of avid dance music enthusiasts and casual listeners alike.

Having signed to Cutters Records, Gamwell released a string of EPs and high-profile remixes that succintly encapsulated the sights and sounds of the ever-evolving electronic landscape.

After a three year hibernation following 2011's I Want You EP, Gamwell finally returned to the fold with his Tangerine Dream-inspired cut Don't Stop opening Cut Copy's Oceans Apartcompilation, a collection of Australia's foremost producers in which he featured alongside fellow Melbourne dance royalty Tornado Wallace, Andras Fox and Roland Tings. Don't Stop was then released as an EP in early 2015, which also featured a cosmic rinse of the title track by Running Back and Rush Hour's disco don Suzanne Kraft alongside an original acidic number titled Interstate 08.

Having since relocated to Bath in the UK, supporting Cut Copy DJs on their recent tour of the USA and headlining Cooper Saver’s decadent Far Away party in Los Angeles, Gamwell is set to round out 2015 with the release of his four-track EP VII. A refinement of the hedonistic sounds from his previous releases, this record reveals a concoction of house, acid and slow-burning balearic rhythm structures, stripping back the layers and re emerging from the haze.

Miss Kittin & The Hacker release ‘Lost Tracks Vol. 2’ on Josh Cheon’s Dark Entries label on 25th June. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of ‘Love On 26’ from it above.

Miss Kittin & The Hacker, real names Michel Amato and Caroline Hervé, worked on a number of EPs together in the late ‘90s that landed on DJ Hell’s International DJ Gigolo label.

Their long-revered electro sound is influenced by 1980s synthpop and post-punk bands like Fad Gadget, D.A.F., Liaisons Dangereuses and Yazoo.

‘Lost Tracks Vol. 2’ contains four previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999.

Speaking about the track, Hervé told DJ Mag, “It’s a track we were not really satisfied with in the beginning. I had to sing straight live, as you can hear.

“The lyrics were about a joke we often said to each other: it’s not in the music business we will find a family."

All the tracks on the release have been transferred from the original DAT tapes and remastered for vinyl.

Tristan Douglas (a.k.a. Antwood) returns with a new 5 track EP 'Alousia', his first new material in two years.

"With Alousia I wanted to play with and celebrate dance music, not ‘subvert’ it like I did on my previous albums," Tristan says. Nods to genres like trance, gabber, donk and electro can be heard in Alousia’s textures and rhythmic palette. However, after listening to the EP, one is left with the sense that a larger idea is pinning the work together.

"While making Alousia I had the idea of 'pillars' and 'stylites' stuck in my head. For whatever reason, these concepts matched how I think of dance music – at least the parts of dance music I like the best – the parts that feel expansive, unambiguous and purposeful like towering monuments. I wanted Alousia to have this expansive feeling.”

The EP begins almost silently with “Pillar of Inversions,” where dusty layers of hardware trance slowly build and entwine until abruptly exploding into a euphoric drop: the first of Tristan’s “sound pillars”. The second track, “Liquid & Digits,” presents itself as a no-nonsense electro cut, but takes unlikely twists and dips while coming across feeling somehow like devotional music. “Trance Pillar” takes its time gaining momentum, as trance synth lines and flutes weave an intricate and bittersweet web of harmony and melody ultimately culminating in a powerful, syncopated gabber payoff. “Daniel the Stylite” meanwhile starts off deceptively poppy until it switches into gloggy nu-metal boogie. Finally, “Elder Theme” closes the EP, feeling less like an ending and more like an intermission, or perhaps a gateway into something else.
