Damion Johnson (born November 19, 1988) known professionally as Mr. Nino Tarantino, is an American hip hop recording artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. Originally from Evanston, Nino moved across town to the community of Bond Hill when he was about 4 years old. He matured into a young man and experience the harsh realities of street life very early. Nino learned many valuable lessons in the streets and definitely earned his stripes on the turf. Nino’s drive, ambition, vision & determination is what fuels him today in his quest to become one of the hottest artist/songwriters within the music industry. Nino grew up listening to music played by his father, uncles and older relatives within the household. Hip Hop, Reggae and R&B from the 80's & 90's played a big influential role in shaping his music career. The first major label artist that Nino was able to identify with was Cash Money’s “Juvenile”, member of the legendary Hot Boys. Nino wrote his first song when he was around 12 years old and sooner after developed a gift for writing songs. As a teen, Nino would always freestyle and joke around about being a rap artist all the while knowing that his destiny would someday be lived out through music. As a member of the group F.O.M (Family Over Money), the goal was to keep the next man on his toes by outperforming him or her musically. This technique actually worked very well because it allowed for the team as a whole to become sharper Mc’s. As a family, the F.O.M group is still a tight unit but decided to pursue solo careers and features with other artists and companies. Nino’s main goal in the music industry is not only just to become one of the hottest MC’s but to also write music for new artists. Nino’s outlook on his music career as a whole is not solely to entertain like most artist signed today but to give hope and tell the tales of where he comes from. Nino’s personal experiences in life, stories of the broken hearted dreams & tribulation are enough to influence anyone who struggles to overcome. Nino’s belief in GOD is what ultimately keeps him grounded at the end of the day. He’s never discouraged, very dedicated and extremely determined to succeed in life.
