As musicians we strive restlessly to separate ourselves from others by means of our sound design, composition, and external influences. Throughout our careers the pair of us have been additionally tasked with entertaining large and diverse groups of people as DJs. This livestream is our way of defining ourselves as individual acts and artists, but it is also our demonstration of what a headlining Akuro B2B allwack set may sound like. Our original music will make appearances throughout this set, as will the very first allwack x Akuro collab!
30 minutes of allwack, 30 minutes of B2B, 30 minutes of Akuro, all in that order.

Many years ago Chris (allwack) and James (Akuro) met in a DJ class at the University of Florida where James demonstrated his mixing skills. Much of what Chris saw that day imprinted on his mind, driving him on a path fueled with the determination to stand next to James as a peer in music in the future. That time has come, enjoy, and don’t ever forget to dream.

I’ve been listening to EPROM since I was teenager and my high school friends will tell you that the M.A.A.D. City remix banged hard in my high school’s weight room when I would curate playlists for my football team. Thus, when the opportunity presented itself to remix one of my favorite songs of all time - after I had already supported ZEKE BEATS on the Purple Haze tour with @grexbeatz no less - I had my work cut out for me.

When I started this a few months ago, I didn’t know if it would become a track. What’s more, I never expected it to end up at 136bpm, be structured the way it is, or sound the way it did. I’m so proud of this because I had a blast making it, and even though it was the mother of all WIPs for such a long time, I feel like it’s the best start to my discography I could ask for right now. Thank you to all the unnamed fam for the track inspirations, thank you to everyone who supports me, and I hope you all enjoy!
