Ötzi is a post-punk group from Oakland, CA. Comprised of bassist Akiko Sampson, drummer Gina Marie, guitarist K. Dylan Edrich and keyboardist/guitarist Winter Zora, they're known for their explosive live show and their unique aggressive post-punk sound. Ötzi delivers a driving rhythm blanketed by the intertwining melodies of double vocals and abstract guitar washes.

Since their formation in 2014, Otzi has toured many parts of the world and billed with varied post-punk, punk and indie luminaries including the Chameleons, Pink Turns Blue, Kommunity FK, Deerhoof, Modern English, 13th Chime, Zounds, Screaming Dead and The Iconoclast. In 2016 Ötzi released their first seven-inch EP, "Gong Show," on Long Way to Go Records. In 2017 came Ötzi's debut LP, Ghosts, recorded by Stan Wright of Arctic Flowers, and released on Near Dark, Psychic Eye, and Last Hour Records in the US and on Bat-Cave Productions in the EU. In 2019, Ötzi released “Part Time Punks Sessions,” a limited edition, Peel Sessions-style EP culled from tracks recorded and archived by the Part Time Punks club night and KXLU radio show in Los Angeles.

What began as a film scoring project and alias, WINKIE, a New York based duo (Betty and Rita) layer distorted electronics, merciless bass tones and percussion patterns that hint at the sounds of Killing Joke, early-era Swans, and Barbed Wire Kisses phase The Jesus and Mary Chain. Winkie have shared the stage with Meat Beat Manifesto, Author & Punisher, Father Murphy, Pictureplane, Pill, HIDE, Chasms, Xeno & Oaklander, and C-TEC. The cinematic quality of their live visuals—almost suited perfectly for a Gregg Araki film—haunt audiences as noted by Invisible Oranges’ Chris Harrington : “…arty and abstract, layering sub-zone bass frequency with shadowy mind patterns. Masks covered the duo’s faces for most of the set, offering a plastic intimacy that was horror and beauty: a possible question to the unnatural-naturalness of life and memory. There was science fiction here, and deep club dreamscapes; gritty urbanity sequenced with blue melody and shine. The pair floated and danced, the music very much film-based and mood structured.”
