Over 25 years ago amidst Calgary's vibrant rave culture, J9's musical journey began, igniting a passion that continues to shape her purpose in life. In 2011, she founded J9Productions, initially captivating audiences with her unique brand of burlesque shows and live music events before transitioning to organizing House music events in 2016, notably the renowned HUMPDay HOUSE Party. 

Driven by a profound connection to music, J9 embarked on her DJing journey in 2022. Since her debut, J9 has graced the decks at prestigious events such as Wicked Woods Music Festival, and has had the honour of opening for esteemed artists like Megan Hamilton, Average Citizens & Father Funk. 

Known for her sensual, groove-filled sets, J9’s preferred sound blends House and Drum & Bass—but she loves playing anything that makes her feel good. From organic house to indie dance and downtempo, her broad musical palette brings depth and energy to every set. She thrives on the coveted opening set time slot, igniting the dance floor and creating the vibe to ensure an unforgettable experience.  

Through the music, J9 aims to evoke profound emotions, foster connection, spread love, positivity, and bring people together, one frequency at a time.

Beginning his journey in 1999, Adam Cuvilier came upon Edmonton's electronic music scene when he moved there from Nova Scotia. Buying his first set of tables in 2002, Cuvy desired to become further involved and began throwing his own shows and playing clubs and events. Groovy Cuvy held down a weekly late night radio show called Smooth Radio at CJSR 88.5FM for over 5 years with co host Avrum Gold mixing live sets into the early morning. Not only radio, but Groovy Cuvy has made appearances on such outlets as DJing live at the HMV Stage at West Edmonton Mall in supporting the Stollery Children's Hospital throwing down a 3 hour set in mid November in the frigid cold on Jasper Ave in Edmonton for Breakfast Television in support of Movember or playing Pride Week Block Party, Cuvy gets around. Groovy Cuvy has played raves, events and club nights all over Canada not to mention multiple International shows across Asia in 2007 and 2011. Groovy Cuvy productions have seen him sign on with labels such as Money Shot, Pop and Lock, Sovereign House, Looking Glass, Audio Planet, Atomic Zoo, Limbo, Looking Glass and The End. His mixes and productions have seen global exposure with plays on internet radio such as Digitally Imported FM and Proton Radio and well as FM plays the world over. He also got a mention in the Nov/09 edition of Computer Music Magazine for his collaboration remix of Myagi's "Dirty Girls". Groovy Cuvy's sound fuses techno, tech house, deep house and nu disco influences.  Taking over Level 2 Lounge at the end of 2007, it has been Groovy Cuvy's mantra to provide clubbers with a superior clubbing experience with a quality music atmosphere in a comfortable environment with like minded individuals. Level 2 Lounge to Groovy Cuvy is a place for individuals to gather and experience "drink, dance and a journey into sound." In September of 2014, Cuvy sold Level 2 after 9 years. He now owns Filthy McNasty's on Whyte Ave in Edmonton with 2 of his best buds.
