'Harry The Hedgehog' is a my tribute to a little hedgehog who wanders peacefully around my garden and whom I have named Harry. He always brings a smile to my face and goes about his business around the garden quietly. reminding me to do the same. 
He isn't without threat though, with the odd cat or dog challenging his right to be in the garden, however in his own quiet way, when threatened, he simply curls up in a spiky ball and awaits their departure.

'One More Breath' is a Jazz Fusion track inspired by the practice of breathing exercises. Chi-gung, meditation etc. When one arrives at their limit, can one relax and add "One More Breath". Through weeks, months and years of practice, one slowly improves and progress is made. So then "One More Breath" is the inspiration in all activities, to not give up at "the final hurdle".

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this 'Long Road' and to all the players who have shared their immense talents with me on this journey. Andy sent me through a 32 bar Bass solo and asked me if I could use it. This is the outcome from that 32 bars. Georg's Wind arrangement and solos are as always, exhilarating and bring with them a special dynamic to the piece. Andy's bass, solid and sometimes unpredictable and bringing his unique style throughout. So thank you to both for bringing my piece alive and it's my pleasure and honour as always to share with you.

'Sleeping Warriors' Inspired by a mountain range in the Isle of Arran in Scotland, that when viewed from the mainland, the mountain range looks like a "sleeping warrior" and this is exactly what it is referred to.
Also the "sleeping Terra Cotta army" in China is a strong inspiration. Then of course there are the real life "sleeping warriors" who become awake in times of extreme hardship in their relative countries. So then here is the track to contemplate if you may be a "sleeping warrior".

The track is inspired by the rise of AI in the ARTS.....which I see as coming from the "dark side". I don't condone it and am very much opposed to it. We can already see the confusion it has caused regarding copyright etc. I have no doubt that in the short term it will prevail, however "real" art will survive as long as all artists (musical and otherwise), continue to create. Not having a crystal ball, prevents one, maybe for the better, seeing how the future pans out.  
Meanwhile from a musician's/composer's aspect, I shall endeavour to play and create without the use of AI. Neither will I listen to it in any shape or form.

John is an incredible drummer and percussionist and it is my great honour to be able to join with him again on this track. The track was originally recorded around ten years ago.

'The Great Glen' Is inspired by the huge rift left by melting glaciers running down from Northern Central Scotland to Mid Western Scotland, creating three major lochs in it's path. Known as 1The Great Glen', it is scenically awe inspiring. So this is my homage to one of natures natural treasues.

Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.
My influences are many and I have quite probably been shaped by listening to the very many "giants" of music, both players and composers. From classical to contemporary jazz and everything in between. My main instrument is the keyboard, whether that be piano, organ or synth. But I also play banjo, flute and percussion. I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.
